After tweaking his ankle Wednesday night in a loss to Portland, Houston Rockets guard Patrick Beverley will not travel to Toronto to defend his skills competition title at All-Star Weekend, league sources told The Vertical. Beverley wants to rest the ankle over the All-Star break for the Rockets’ final push to make the Western Conference playoffs. Beverley, 27, is averaging 8.9 points and 2.8 assists for the Rockets this season. He won the Skills Challenge in New York a year ago and had been enthusiastic about trying to do it again in Toronto. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/source...efend-skills-competition-title-154324470.html
lol he scared? or maybe he understands he really just needs to get away for a bit then come back focused. Bev is clear on Team Howard!
Well he is going to come back after the break overweight and by the time he gets going, the season will be done and dusted #LOTTERY
It's a nice excuse that I don't buy. This whole team needs to take the next week to be with family and relax after that miserable start to the season. Only Harden should be in Toronto and he should use this time to heavily recruit anyone and everyone who will be a free agent in the next two years.
Hmmmmmmmm....seems like an overreaction. So because of a twisted ankle he can't do like 5 minutes of skills challenge competition? How bad is that ankle twist? Other players who are injured travel to Toronto just fine. I mean I appreciate that Bev did this but it seems kinda fishy to me.
I'm just disappointed that Pat Bev will no longer officially be considered the most skilled player in the NBA.
according to taco bell. yeah that breaks my heart he'll always be the most skilled player in the nba according to taco bell to me
I actually tend to believe that it's the reason he dropped out. Either he's very afraid he's gonna get traded or already informed he's gonna get traded.
Beverly is the Heart and Soul of the Houston Rockets. He always give it his all. He deserves more respect. He's one of the players I would not trade.
wow the bad news just doesn't stop coming... I was looking forward in seeing Bev own those scrubs while defending his title.
