Excuses? In your opinion pointing out that a player was playing out of position against one of the most dominant centers in the game is an excuse? SMH

If healthy, DMo would be the starting PF, so how DAJ performed against him without Dwight Howard in the lineup is irrelevant. He'd be on Griffin.....and all he'd have to do is perform better than the worst defensive frontcourt rotation player in the 2nd round of the playoffs to be an upgrade from what we've had.

He's a freak, what can you say. He had ton of games this season with 18+ rebounds and had 12p/18r game last season against Asik and Howard...

TJonea is far from the worst defensive frontcourt player. Perkins and Bog Baby are still playing, just two examples off the top of my head

Jones has the highest opponent FG% at the rim of any frontcourt rotation player that is still in the playoffs. Even Harden has provided better rim protection than Jones.

Look the numbers up if you don't believe me.

Beverly may not be the most talented or the smartest player, but he's the heart of this team.

Post defense wise I'm not for sure, but I think Dmo would do a better job slowing down BG or at least not being lost on help defense. He changes our offense because he gives us a consistent scoring option, can spread the court (37% from 3), a good passer and an overall high IQ player.. He would also actually make Blake work on defense.

Rebounding wise we might be in trouble, but BG and Deandre already doing work vs Jones/Smith.

Same as always, he's out for the rest of the playoffs. He suggested he might be able to make a return early on, but McHale has already ruled him out....and he did so quite a while ago.

Ha, that's the same stat people were using to say DMo is a better defender than Dwight.

    Context and interpretation matter.

If you think Harden provides better rim protection than TJones, then I really don't know what to say.

Stats aren't necessary to see that Terrence Jones was good in the regular season but has been absolutely horrible in the playoffs.

Or that Beverley was horrible during the regular season but has been good (historically) in the playoffs.

This playoffs? Yeah, even Harden has been better. Perhaps you don't realize just how worthless Jones has been this post-season....maybe it's because you have an image of him being a competent defender so you just assume that's the case, it's not. Jones has been all but completely worthless on defense and the boards. I don't see how anyone could have watched the games and come up with a different interpretation.

@haralabob: Josh Smith starting is more about having the bench have a decent option with T. Jones imo. Smith misses ignited clips fast break in g 4

@ZachLowe_NBA: Impressive response from Houston last night. Especially liked T-Jones energy, playmaking off the bench. HOU also just played harder.

Your arguing with a little child in Bobby, just ignore him and let him stare at his man size poster of DMO he's got in his room. He doesn't know his bball and he's a hater. Best is to ignore IMO.

When I started this thread it was just a conversation about how different our team is without two starters.

Not to turn it into a TJones vs DMo debate between people that have argued that point to death - please try to stay on topic.

lol, good luck with that DD. i'm not telling you anything you don't already know, but we're lucky if thread topics last past the 3rd page. it always devolves into whatever argument happens to be gripping the board at the time. you get 20 threads that, by page 16, are all talking about Brooks vs Lowry.

Wait, what year is this ?
