yao's nickname should be the general. sounds as good as david robinson's nickname: admiral. what do you think? definitely sounds more respectable than chairman. chairman makes him sound evil.

A friend of mine has been Calling him- Big China.

I like it for reason. Though it is frighteningly close to one of the larger busts in NBA history.

Actually, it really ought to be something that reflects Yao as a
person, rather than as a monster basketball player (which he is
    not, quite yet).

He literally has been taken under the wings of some of the current
veterans, like they are his big brothers.

So, until he becomes truly dominating, and truly the monster of
the NBA, his nickname needs to be:

    Little Brother

It's perfect, because he is so humble, young, and endearing, not
to mention it's rather humorous because he is after all what, 7'5",
7'6", depending on who you believe..

Plus it is reminiscent of many terrific cheesy old kung-fu flicks,
where 'Little Brother' is a common way to refer to someone.

Eventually he would become 'Big Brother', which then also has all
sorts of deliciously ironic undertones, and would also reflect his
    emerging domination on the floor.

Imagine it then - 'Big Brother is watching you!'.. "Big Brother is
everywhere!' .. 'You can't escape Big Brother!' and so on..

Seriously, think about it.. Bill and Calvin, not to mention ESPN and
everyone else could enjoy that nickname for a long time.

(Dear Santa, make mine win. I really like it the best.)

    ;)

    ciao
