Warriors are what they are. Unless Barnes turns into a all-star player they are going to get slightly better because they don't have the room to improve.

Still I think they will be a good team...but I don't see contender. I see a Hawk like or even Tmac/Yao era playoff team. A team that always makes the playoffs but becomes more of a stepping stone for the real teams on the rise.

I would not be surprised if the Warriors did not make the playoffs next year. If they are healthy then they can challenge any team in the playoffs, but that's true of most of the teams in the NBA. The problem is that they are not a team that is built for the regular season. They are too dependent upon Steph Curry, and he himself is too dependent upon his freak ability to make ridiculous contested shots.

That team is a glass cannon built on a house of cards.

Stephen Curry lives and dies by his jump shots, while Harden lives and dies by points in the paint, behind the arc, and at the line. I don't care if Curry is the greatest shooter of all time, and he's really fun to watch, Harden is the better player on paper and that's why Rockets future is better.

LBJ Curry or Howard Harden its debatable whos better. The rocket fan in me says OMG harden howard WOULD DEsTROY OMG, ban anyone who thinks otherwise. But the basketball fan, and an understanding of the game puts a block on it.

Comparing the line ups in my previous post, if you can seriously think its not debatable that it would be a challenge for houston, then you got probs.

i love both teams...but i gotta go with the houston rockets...james harden has a chance to be a really special player once he deletes his bad habits from his game

and i believe in Morey...he is the better GM

They are up against the cap and probably about to lose Landry and Jack and they are built around a guy with glass ankles. I'd love for the Warriors to be one of the contenders in the West for the foreseeable future, I just don't see it.

Curry is probably the most talented player on either team. Even though I love Harden, being a jumpshooting PG who can become a 50/50/90 player is absolutely absurd.

Still I'd take the Rockets now for 1 key reason, INJURY PRONE STARS ON GS. God after so many years of Tmac and Yao, if only they are healthy, that is where Warriors fans will be with Curry and Bogut year after year.

Without Bogut the Warriors are 6-8 seed, with him they are competing for a 2-4 seed, I think he is that big of a difference maker, but he just can't stay on the floor.

Big contract players with injury history, is the worst situation your team can be in. Cap is shot, and you can't add the players you need.

Odd bump, but interesting topic considering how things have changed and that GS is one of the "future" teams.

Golden State has given away its 2014 and 2017 1st round picks and it doesn't have a 2nd round draft pick until 2019. No appreciable cap room until 2016 at earliest without dismantling team. Already used amnesty provision. Outside of natural progression in players and trades (without draft picks, it will be tough for trades to greatly improve them), this is the Warriors. Barnes is the key for them becoming a contender.

Houston has potential for cap room in 2015, has all first round draft picks, 3 more 2nd round picks traded to it, potentially a fourth extra 2nd rd pick if the Clips finish 6-10th in NBA next season, and has 2-3 interesting players stashed overseas. Houston is also playing better now. Houston is also younger.

I watched my first GSW game and those cats are crazy offensively. Jack up three in the blink on an eye. That Barnes and klay look sharp.

In the long run, houston. Right now at this moment. Golden state. I don't think right now we could win a best of 7 series against them.
