wifi us usually faster and uses less battery than 3G. I don't think you can talk on the phone and surf the net at the same time on 3G alone either - you have to have wifi for the net and 3G for the phone.
That time again... I was really hoping for a Droid X but my other son loves his Fascinate. I don't know if it is worth the gamble to wait 1 more week. Next week might be the Droid X or they parade out the Ally - again. Do I choose 2Pat or go for Whitehouse? Oct 22s free phones are: •Samsung Fascinate – Black (Verizon) •BlackBerry Bold 9700 (AT&T) •Sanyo Zio (Sprint) •BlackBerry Bold 9700 (T-Mobile)
Last chance... Tomorrow's free phones at Best Buy are: HTC Incredible (Verizon) Samsung Flight 2 (AT&T) Samsung Vibrant (T-Mobile) BlackBerry Curve 3G (Sprint) I used my last upgrade last week to get the Fascinate. Maybe I should have waited but I took the bird in the hand.
The Vibrant looks pretty good but you have to have your contract up tomorrow or before. The free phones are over on Friday night. But at $100, it looks to be one of the cheaper non-free smart phones - and decent one at that. http://reviews.cnet.com/smartphones/samsung-vibrant-t-mobile/4505-6452_7-34129373.html
I was at bestbuy looking at the Vibrant and it does look fantastic. However, I'm afraid it may be too large to fit comfortably in my pocket. I've also been looking at the much more compact HTC Aria, which Amazon has for free with contract. I love the big screen of the Vibrant, so I don't know which one I'll get.
I would say so but I'm not an expert in that area. You might call them to double check but since you aren't under a current contract, I think you would be eligible. You will pay the $30 data fee per month (at least that is what the plan cost at Verizon - not sure about T-Mobile) on these phones if you don't already have the unlimited data plan on your line. And of course you will enter into a new 2 year agreement. Good deal if you plan on staying with your carrier or want to change carriers and get a free smart phone.
