Put Doug Collins on the list of the worst color, but he is very good when he is in the NBA pregame show. He just talks too much when he works for a NBA announcer.
i cant watch the clippers feed, i want to throat punch that announcer that says "bingo" when someone hits a 3. It could just be annoying since we hit 12 of them a game...
Best : Hubie Brown, I feel like I learn something more about basketball every time I listen to him. Worst: Reggie Miller
Kevin Harlan Chris Webber dream broadcast team. Bill Walton was my fav color guy back in the day though.
Why are people bashing on Webber? He gives credit where credit is due. Not biased. Has passion for good basketball.
Best: Harlan, Albert, JVG Worst: Joel Meyers, SA's announcers (bigger homers than Bill, Clyde, and Bull)
Reggie Miller was all kinds of awful with his commentary at the Rox-Lakers game last night. How did he even get that job in the first place?! He almost sounds intelligent until you realize he doesn't know what the heck he's talking about and it just repeating crap he heard from hacks like Bayless, SAS, Broussard, and Sheridan. He's completely unlistenable. I would rather listen to Clyde's commentary than his, and that's saying a lot Spoiler p.s. I still love you clyde Spoiler no homo, lol
Reggie is easily the most difficult to listen to. No contest, none at all. He is just all kinds of bad. Terrible analysis that is basically "chuck and kenny" level in terms of depth, terrible delivery, terrible sidebars into the unknown, terrible jokes. He was bad last year during the playoffs, give him nothing to talk about in what is effectively a meaningless game (other than for the ROckets) during the Kobe Retirement Tour part XXVIII and you see all of his worst qualities manifest. Like I was talking to my tv set. I hate to say this but I agree with Slothy above - I'd rather have Clyde's comparatively innocuous " repetition heh heh heh"routine.
I can't understand why nobody has yet mentioned Tom Heinson. Anybody else is good compared to him. I watch Boston games without sound.
Reggie Miller is a special kind of awful. Aside from being unpleasant to listen to, it's clear he doesn't actually do any research, he just parrots whatever the general sentiment is nationally. Barry is pretty terrible too, but he's not Miller level bad. Hubie isn't great, but at least you can tell he he knows basketball. He breaks things down very well, although he's kind of boring, and doesn't actually add much color. Webber is awesome, he's the total package. JVG is a lot of fun as well, but I'm not sure if I would love him as much if he weren't a blatant Rockets homer. I also loved Walton back when he did games. I don't tend to notice the actual play by play guys too much, which I guess is a good thing, just call the game.
