Best endings: "Godfather," "Resevoir Dogs," and "Commitments."

"I'd 'ave to say, we skipped the light fandango, turned cartwheels on the floor, I was feelin' kind of seasick -- but the crowd called out for more.

    What's it mean, Jimmie?

    I'm f!cked if I know."

Worst ending? Recent memory serves up "Garden State."

Gotta agree about Shaftner's Planet of the Apes..definitely a classic.
    Some other good ones....Roman Holiday
    True Romance
    Vanilla Sky
    Midnight Express
    Tough Guys Don't Dance
On Barry Lyndon....one of the most beautiful films ever made.
I love Kubrick too and would have to add Dr.Strangelove..Slim Pickens ridin the bomb.

Didn't see your Strangelove post Sishir Chang....
I actually like the ending of Hell in the Pacific.Along the same vein,"Das Boot" delivers quite an unexpected punch at the close.

Happy to help :) Oh and one other thing I forgot... the wife and the kid are creepier in Juon...oh and they don't rely on cgi like in The Grudge did in a few scenes.

I haven't see either The Grudge of Juon but I think I'm going to rent both tonight.

Its too bad I don't live in Houston otherwise I would want to put together a Clutchfans Stanley Kubrick retrospective.
