Baywatch Some people staaand in the daarkness. Afraid to step into the night.....IIIIII'll be theeere. I'LL BETHERE!"
Sanford and Son for sure. Runner up: What's Happening Second runner up: Good Times Honorable mention: Barney Miller, Taxi, All in the Family, Happy Days, Welcome Back, Kotter, The Munsters, Land of the Lost, Batman (duh).
My first thought when I saw the thread title was "Greatest American Hero". My second thought when I realized that Fatty picked "Greatest American Hero" was "Sanford & Son". When I realized "Sanford & Son" was the runaway winner I realized that I arrived at this thread way too late and gave up.
Beverly Hillbillies, b****es! Also, I'll throw out a lil' love to Chip n' Dale's Rescue Rangers as well. "Some times, some crimes, Go slippin' through the cracks, But these two, gumshoes, are pickin' up the slack. There's no case too big, No case too small, When you need help, Just call, Ch-ch-ch-ch-chip and Dale! Rescue Rangers!
You're right, I got my 80's era Vietnam TV shows (God bless Platoon and Full Metal Jacket) mixed up. It was "Tour of Duty" that featured the Stones' "Paint It Black"
This is tough but I'll go with The Andy Griffith Show. Honorable mentions to Bewitched and Diff'rent Strokes.
As I stated in this thread from November of 2005, Fatty... Did other shows of this era have a soundtrack on vinyl? Opening theme song is a classic.
