How much better is KG than Yao really. Id say if we were on a 100 point scale and KG was a 90, yao would be an 88. He is better but not by much as far as numbers if you throw in leadership and other intangibles than the margin widens.

    Id rather have yao

But I can see the argument that the Rockets don't have a "trio" per se because only two of those guys are all-stars, the other is a guy that no one wanted and a team was willing to pay humongous amount of money just to get rid of. I like Stevie, but I can see where others are coming from regarding the fact that he has been a bench player on a bad team in recent years.

In all honesty, I just included the Rox because it's a Rockets website and people are pretty excited about the Francis addition.

Moreover, I did forget to add the Pistons and may be even the Nets.

But if we limit it to teams with three all-star calibre players, the list is narrowed down to the followings:

Suns, Spurs, Pistons, and Celtics. Those would be the only four teams that would qualify.

From those four, I still rank them as follows:

    1) Celtics

    2) Spurs

    3) Suns

Amare is clearly not. Amare is clearly a second tier PF who lacks any defensive intensity, maturity, and true refined post play. Although not a complete creation of Nash, his efficiency is definitely the creation of Nash and the system. Amare = Shawn Kemp Ultra-lite

Leadership is hardly one of KG's strong points. He may lead by example because of the intensity he plays with, but hardly in the lockerroom. Wolves have been a big-time mess all these years because of immature players like Davis, James, etc., and KG couldn't really do much about it. KG is marginally better than Yao (mainly because of his consistently high intensity and rebounding instincts), but leadership does not widen the gap between. Both are below-average leaders for such classy, hard-working superstars.

I cannot fathom that ANY GM would take Yao over KG in their primes. For a guy who is 7 feet Kg can guard all 5 positions and he has a perimeter game that is bested only by Dirk . No offense to Yao but I would take a jhealthy KG over most other players in the NBA.. behind Tim Duncan I would take him over anybody else.

    KG = Yao [At BEST]
PP >= TMac [T-mac is slightly more talented but PP has more heart]
Allen ~ Francis [I think Francis will show alot of people alot of things this year]

I know you love Francis, but you're delusional if you think Francis and Allen are on the same level.

As for T-Mac and PP, it's easier for me to argue as to why McGrady is a better all-around player than it's for me to argue as to why PP is better; at the end I am willing to just call it a wash. But I think it's fair to say that most people would rank McGrady a level above Pierce on that list. But I completely agree that Pierce has more heart.

So, it really comes down to this, IMO:

    KG ~ Yao

    PP ~ TM

    Allen >>>>>>>>>> Francis.

There is no evidence that Yao has reached his prime at this moment.

Personally, I would say TM > PP... How bout this: technically, Yao/KG and Allen/Francis don't play the same position so let's switch it around ;)

    KG > Francis
    PP < TM
    Allen < Yao

    Yay. we win :D :D :D

    I doubt that
Allen has never been asked to play PG

But Let's Look at the numbers

    Career Stats
    Player--- Ray Allen---Steve Francis
    PPG----- 21.5--------18.4
    apg----- 3.9----------6.1 *
    rpg----- 4.6----------5.6 *
    min----- 37.5---------37.9
    fg%-----.446---------.429
    ft%-----.888---------.799
    3ptr-----.397---------.343
    bpg-----.1------------.3
    to-------2.46----------3.56
    spg------1.3-----------1.5

Steve Averages about 1 more turnover a game but 2 more asst and 1 more rebound
The FG% is not IMO Marketly Different Allen is a better 3pt shooter
    and
these are career stats . . . Francis coming off an injury year and a yr in the dumps.

If one wanna say Ray Allen is better than Franciis .. .we can debate
    but
Allen >>>>>>>>>> Francis. . . no frickin way

Allen is the better shooter. . . Francis is better getting to the rim

Even if the Cs do have the best trio, the rest of the team is = or less than garbage.

I'd say Allen is the question mark. He is at an age where SGs decline, plus coming off ankle surgery. Who knows what type of condition he'll return at.

Your statement is a little foolish. We witnessed how KG was/is in his prime, and his team went NO WHERE. Yao on the other hand is still improving greatly every year.

You can't say KG's team's have always gone nowhere, and then not say the same thing about Yao. And Yao has T-Mac.

Yao hasn't reached his prime yet. He improved last year. KG has already stopped improving.
