Well, if you look closely you'll see I put the names of the shows in big bold letters above the videos!

Personally, I'd recommend Ghost in the Shell over Baccano!, because it's slightly less weird. But they're both good. Ghost in the Shell used to be on Netflix instant streaming, but unfortunately they lost the rights sometime around summer. Baccano! is on there, though.

You might also check out this post, my first on these forums. I'm always good for recommendations.

I like Louie cause it makes me think New York is some kind of 24 hour standup comedy pizza party and it's all local thin Sicilian and by the slice. Also very male.

Used to always like Big Love's Beach Boys opening before they screwed it in Season 4.

West Wing was nice especially with the White House archival style black-and-white photos.

Also, I think Good Wife has the very best cold openings I've ever seen.

Never watched The OC after the premiere, but always liked that they used that California song.

Always liked House's opening too, seriously gonna miss that show and really think it could have been Fox's Law and Order.

Speaking of which, I thought the original Law and Order's intros with the '70s newspaper crime articles were uniquely New York, even though just remembering watching Saturday night TV with my Dad I'm positive they stole the synthesizer and clarinet from The Commish.

Yup, got it on DVD and use to let the closing credits roll all the way through before switching eps cuz they played it on the end, too.

Should totally be used again on some other historical show or miniseries on broadcast television.

For me, choices are gonna be favored toward older stuff (and to animation).

Back then was emphasis on adventure, campiness, theatrics, with a touch of class and "heart". And hard synthesizers too for the "ACTION!" stuff.

Angels was a bad theme, but there's still "sophistication" to it. Like these really are ANGELS here, not pretentious chicks sending out too much "tweets". Yes I was younger then but it was like you could look UP to them.

Like Wonder Woman, just an awful theme. But you were gonna respect Lynda Carter with CLASS and say "Yes, Ma'am" to her  (while still wanting to fap hard to her )

There was that period where there was a bunch of man/woman crime fighting teams with actresses named "Stephanie". Like

("Is Stephanie Zimbalist the one in Hunter? Or was that Stephanie Powers? Or, what show is she in again, Scarecrow and Mrs King?)

A lot of the ones I was thinking of have already been posted, so here are a few others that popped to mind.

Kind of shocked nobody mentioned this one.....

Stephanie Powers was in Hart to Hart with Robert Wagner
Stephanie Zimbalist was in Remington Steele with Pierce Brosnan

(no, I did not need google to know those.)

and....heyp....how did you not know Mel Brooks was responsible for Get Smart?
    bad HP.

my submission for this would have been Sledge Hammer, but I see I got beat on that, so try this one on for size.

    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/d41cAOmcuxk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

    or this one

    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/HofoK_QQxGc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Got a hold of this show on DVD a while back, jsut getting around to watching it....the intro isnt as great as some of the others here....but I love it and think Im probably in the minority here.....not a well known show unless you grew up in the 70s.

Originality, WOW factor: Home Improvement - every season after the 3rd one it was a different intro and every commercial break was something "cool" to look at.
    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/CrPsh_25tXU?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

PUMPED UP, diverse: Monday Night Football - every week was different. The entire title sequence was about 3 and a half minutes, what with the intros changing for every team, every broadcast commentator group (probably the best intro for any group was the Frank, Al, and Dan in the 90's).
    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/qzDwFxi-10o?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

CREATIVITY, BEST SCENES: CHiPs (the letters for the title sequence come out from the mother effin' bikes! I mean, what other show did that? Creativity! AND the cinematography and editing were superb. Following them on a chopper while zooming in to their faces, showing their equipment and bikes through traffic going into the L.A. skyline... unmatched! )
    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/qc-hGEzjHEg?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

You keep changing your list, heyp. :p

Wow, this page might be the best collection in the thread. GRENDAL: agree on the how did Twilight Zone not get mentioned. Maybe most important Intro with a narration ever, beating out Star Trek.

The first one that came to my mind:

    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/jw_13C102z4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Outstanding title sequence that really set the tone for the whole show. Man, I wish they'd had more than two seasons.
