Time to put up or shut up.

    (abbreviated version)

Not as much stylin' but a better full song.

i saw him with Arc Angels at SXSW back in '90 or '91. very impressive, but since he idolized SRV, we'll have to go through the whole rock v. blues argument again.

Grissom is amazing! I saw him play with Ely several times (I'm a big Joe Ely fan... one of those guys that's much better in person than on his LPs, and he has some good LPs), but not with Storyville, for which I bang my head against a convenient wall every day. The one time I got to see Roy Orbison in concert was within a year of his death. He put on one of the best concerts I've seen at the main stage at Aqua Fest, on Auditorium Shores. Grissom was his guitarist. Don't know if he sat in or what, but the whole experience just blew me away. Orbison hadn't lost a thing. He did something I've never seen done before. After singing Crying to a standing ovation, so good it sent chills down your spine, he was so moved by the reaction that he sang it again, in its entirety, and even better than the first time. The crowd went nuts!

At the time, Doyle was adamant that ARC Angels was not a blues band and there aren't any blues cuts on the one album. Every assumes they were because of the Double Trouble connection but it's pure power rock. It just soars.

I'm pretty sure he sees himself as a rock act when he's not playing other people's music.

I forget that CD is now 16 years old  So kids, give a listen to ARC Angels. It stands the test of time pretty well.

Voted for Billy, but the correct answer is Dimebag Darrell.
