Tacos Tierra Caliente on W. Alabama is stupid good. The perfect street tacos. Fajita, pechuga y barbacoa son mejor.
If y'all think El Rey is seriously good I feel like you're missing out on the quality tacos that are out there. El Rey is like... slightly above Taco Cabana level. If you like El Rey be honest - have you genuinely tried a wide range of different tacos? If so then no worries, just curious. Torchy's, Taco Deli, A-Go-Go, I like em' all but if that's the most adventurous taco you've tried you should think about considering some of the more unique places.
Where would you suggest? I've been to most of those places you mentioned, and would like to go experience some more, but I just don't know about them.
When it comes to tacos there is a lot I don't know as well. I'm like you, I like suggestions. If you haven't had El Jarro it's authentic and hot and savory. El Gran Malo is a bit more inventive and a solid place for a drink. Xuco Xicana isn't bad either but it isn't a must try.
Zapotlan meat market on north shepherd or pollos asadas la silla in the east end or tacos la bala on bellaire and renwick/fountainview. Those are must tries.
Another vote for El Taconazo. I'm not even hungry right now, but thinking about those tacos makes me wanna make that trip across town.
It'll make a turd. I wasn't all that impressed, but I only went once, so maybe I caught them at a bad time.
ARRGHHHH... so much talk about that makes me want to buy some. I'm going after work. Around 5:45'ish.
1. Laredo Taqueria (on Washington) 2. Torchy's 3 100% Taquito I have been meaning to try to Chiloso's, but they are only to-go at the moment.
