After weeks of traveling around the city trying numerous taco stands and taquerias, I have prepared a list of top 5 taco places in Houston. 1. Pollos Asados La Silla (Canal and Lockwood) 2. Tacos La Bala (Renwick and Bellaire) 3. Zapotlan Meat Market (North Shepherd and Crosstimbers) 4. Taconazo Taco Truck (Fulton) 5. Tacos a Go Go (Main between McGowen and Elgin)
Numbers respective to the places I named 1. Chicken, al pastor. Meat extremely juicy and full of flavor, and cut in thick pieces, not shredded like some places. 2. Chicharron, chicken, beef fajita. Green hot sauce is the key here. 3. Chicken. The chicken here is marinated and red in color, very tasty. Also you can add toppings for no charge. 4. Trompo. Avocado sauce is good. 5. Fish tacos. Highest priced of all the tacos on the list, $2.50 each, probably because of the area it's in, Midtown.
X1000000 #1 in my book. Check it out, when we have friends over who are not familiar with the areas I grew up in, I love to take them to El Taconazo and give them a scenic tour before hand lol! What's awesome is I got at least two families that now frequently go there to pick up diner and then drive back to Champions forest lol!!
Good God almighty I can't wait to come back to Houston next month. Did you find any places that use the rotisserie (like schwarma)....... My mouth is watering something fierce.
I've eaten at El Ray so much that now when I even see it I get a stomach ache, although their fajita nacho's are the bizzomb. The Cuban sandwich is too, but this is a Taco thread and stuff. My preferred is El Tiempo. Only $9.99 for three extra large tacos with all fixings. I'm addicted to the potatoes in the beef or something. Nice try at humor Swoly, FAIL again though bruh.

oh **** that completely slipped my mind. Yes Yes and Yes. The Trailer Park Trashy is my go to option there. Also, their queso with the guacamole in it is great. It seems like most places in Austin do this, but I have not seen it at Houston places, why is that? Adds so much to the queso.
