    LOL! Not even remotely.

    Lunch:

    Fogo - $28
    Nelores - $22

    Dinner:

    Fogo - $39
    Nelores - $35

I just called up Nelores a few days ago and asked them if they sell gift certificates. The hostess who had picked up the phone said, "huh...no we dont do any of that stuff".

Thats all I need to know about Nelores. Spend five bucks more and go to the original. Nothing beats Fogo!

    JWhaley...check out this website:

    www.b4-u-eat.com

Houston's restaurant database. You can search by cuisine, area of town, and zip code, and read reviews that real people have written about each restaurant.

Plus...there is a whole lot more to eat than steak here. You need to check out some BBQ and some Tex Mex while you are here as well. We wouldn't want you visiting our fair city without gaining at least 5 pounds...and maybe 10!

    ;) :D

    HELL NO!

They've gone straight down hill since they started expanding outside of Austin. When it was jsut the 290/35 location and the Bee Caves location, they were still one of the better ones in Austin. Since then, they became Steak & Ale...in other words...crap.

they opened the striphouse about a year and a half ago.

the wallpaper is pretty nice i hear.

theres another steakhouse in downtown, I think it's Mortons. It's not open yet. I think it's right off San Jacinto and Lamar.

Strip House is great, I had an interview there in October. The filet was very tasty, and they had great mashed potatoes and creamed spinach with truffles.

I didn't get the job, but the free meal was awesome.

    Are you serious?

It depends on how much you want to spend.

Fogo is awesome, but I might prefer a steakhouse more traditional to Texas.

how does strip house charge? ala cart?

how much would say the lobster soup, a 12 oz steak (ny strip maybe), 2 sides, and say a glass of wine run? $60? $70?
