I know, that's what I try to tell her. But the one where they were debating which cause of action to use in the complaint absolutely killed her.
really? that's funny...i typically don't like lawyers and all that crap anyway. so i'm not real impressed when a show gets it right in some studio courtroom. i think i'm more inclined to get concerned with it if the show takes itself seriously...but ed doesn't. bottom line, on ed the good guy usually wins...and that's enough for me while watching a comedy like that. the fact that ed is an attorney has zero effect on my appetite for the show. mrs. jb -- you're right...now if i could just get my hair all messy like his with mousse and gel, i'd be set! carol vescey, here i come!!!
She can watch most lawyer shows, it's just Ed is normally so bad, it's like they don't even try to get it right most of the time.
I don't watch the show but I have to wonder just how you can have a gritty, issue-oriented tv show about a high school with all those attractive people. What is that, school for models??? I just wish, if they were going to do "hard-hitting" stuff about teens, that they would actually get people who look like real people on there. But, I guess we shouldn't expect much from David E. Kelly. He obviously has an obsession with the way people look on his shows. Damnit, Hill Street Blues didn't need babes!
The only shows I bother watching: CSI CSI: Miami Sopranos OZ (Series finale Sun. ) Six Feet Under Queer as Folk Chapelle Show Bernie Mac Cedric the Entertainer Houston Rockets games Wow, I'm actually kinda proud of myself. I thought I watched much more TV than this.
That's how I felt too. I totally forgot about HBO shows for some reason. Add Six Feet Under and The Sopranos to mine, and those seven are the only shows I really watch on a regular basis. That and three hours of reruns a day!
Great post Jeff, espesially since the eruption in school violence, that culminated with Columbine, was a result of the bullying of kids who " don't fit in". This show along with every other stupid High School show perpetuates that thought. Its really reckless television.
Well I don't watch, and I'm not comparing it to Beverly Hills 90210, I'm just commenting on all the good looking people. Its bad enough that women in general feel they have to live up to ridiculous standards in our society, I just feel like it is moving down to the High School and Junior High School level. Even worse are some of the television shows on the Disney Chanel.
Honestly, on Boston Public, the only people who are stereotypically "good looking" are some of the teachers.
Yeah. Maybe I was deprived, but I only had overweight, middle-aged high school teachers (male and female). These kids have the hottest teachers around, and a New Kid on the Block to boot (for the ladies). As for the students... god damn what a hottie that female student was whose mother had an affair with her teacher (dad was an arms dealer)!!!!
This thread is starting to reek of high school bitterness.... Anyway...my list: 1. Alias 2. 24 3. Farscape 4. Boomtown
No one has mentioned "The Shield." I've heard great things, but I don't want to start in the middle of the season. I hear season 1 is on DVD. I may have to go rent it. Any reviews about the show from anyone?
1. The Shield 1. 24 3. The Sopranos 4. The Simpsons 5. Scrubs 6. BoomTown 7. Oz * Other notables * - Friends - That 70's Show - Curb Your Enthusiasm - Grounded for Life (I emailed Fox, they are moving to WB this March) - The Bernie Mac Show
Drapg - see my rankings! I have Season1 on DVD, it is an awesome show. I know you like 24 a lot, you will LOVE this show. Very hard hitting. It's like Vic (the main character on the Shield) and Jack are related.
