No particular order: No Reservations Standard Snowboard Show Longhorns basketball Rockets Basketball Texans Football (hard to type this, but I watch religiously) Archer Tosh.O Colbert Report Daily Show Mexico: One Plate at a Time Longhorns Football (except this season) Mythbusters
This is how I feel, though I haven't seen the 3rd season of Breaking Bad yet. Curb Your Enthusiasm is probably my favorite show of all time.
LOL, Pacey can't act (his acting skills are similar to that of a monotone professor)..... the primary story line is damn good, but I couldn't care less about the side stories, the characters personalities just arn't strong enough to carry them through the fillers.....only Walter holds up his game every episode, the rest are boring. I'd go with Dexter and Breaking Bad as the top shows. Though Dexter is now being stretched out so its losing steam.
Mad Men. It is a superb show that reminds me of when I was young. That last is just a side benefit. If anyone hasn't seen it, do so.
1. Breaking Bad 2. Boardwalk Empire (really impressed with the first season) 3. Dexter (after season 4 I had this up with Breaking Bad, but it slipped a little in season 5) 4. Curb (coming off one of it's best seasons) Worth mentioning: Archer (very funny), Louis (Curb/Seinfeld mix). Off the list: Always Sunny (barely watchable now) Shows I want to watch: Modern Family and Mad Men.
I watched the first season on DVD. It was alright. I find it ironic that THESE folks are the ones that had the longest lifespan in history. Very telling considering how they mock all of the BAD things the adults were doing back then. (namely smoking and drinking...)
Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Dexter, and Boardwalk Empire. No particular order but I'd give Mad Men and Breaking Bad the edge over the other two. For Comedy, Modern Family and the League.
Ana Trov as Olivia has been one of the strongest and underrated acting jobs on television. Joshua Jackson(Peter) and John Noble(Walter) have also been slighted for their work on this show. There haven't been any "filler" episodes, I don't know if you have been watching, but every episode has advanced the main story line and fleshed out feelings of the characters. Community > Modern Family
I'll make a full list Dramas 1) Breaking Bad 2) Fringe 3) Spartacus 4) Dexter (those are the only dramas I find worth watching) Comedies 1) Curb Your Enthusiasm 2) It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia 3) Parks & Recreation 4) The Big Bang Theory 5) The League
It's similar to Web Junk 20 in that both are clip shows featuring internet videos and both have comedians as hosts. That's not a bad thing, though. If you're a fan of Daniel Tosh's stand-up or offensive humor, then it's worth watching.
I don't understand why people find Big Bang Theory funny. The other shows you listed are some of the best comedies on television. Please explain how someone like yourself can watch great comedies and then put them in the same category as the abortion of a show that is The Big Bang Theory.
Breaking Bad, Dexter, Friday Night Lights. Dexter is sort of getting repetitive and didn't have the greatest season with 5. I have only seen two seasons of Breaking Bad, and the second season was freakin awesome! I hear the third season is the best, but it's not out on DVD yet! As someone else mentioned earlier in this thread, Friday Night Lights is one of the best shows that nobody watches. Outstanding final season going on right now as well. A very consistent show. Also, I'm watching Mad Men and I'm just a few episodes in so far. It's pretty good so far, but haven't seen enough to judge it yet.
