I can tell you this Kobe will lead the league in scoring. I don't care if T-mac had a big man or not. Kobe is the better scorer. Anybody that can score 40 pts 9 games in row is definitey ahead in my book.
If kobe was Serious about Wining, he would try to make those around him better. and if he also led the league in Points then even better. the truly great players made those around them look good. Jordan made longely, perdue and other stiffs look pretty good!
Bryant is a better defender, better passer, plays harder, is WAY more clutch, the only thing McGrady could do better than Bryant is score, and this is still a question?
T-Mac has a bad back and way too skinny legs. (related?) I'm not a Kobe fan, but I think Kobe has the edge.
Boy, I love having T-Mac on our team and definitely like him more than Kobe, I think Kobe's still proven to be the best SG in the league, if not the best player. He's got no weaknesses offensively (similar to T-Mac), but he already locks down on D, and he's the best clutch player in the game. Add that with the 3 rings and about the same age, I think T-Mac comes in 2nd right now (which is A-OK with me).
I see 3 other "Other (write-in)" votes, but have yet to see anyone else write-in who the other would be...
Kobe is the best 2 in the nba. T-mac was the leader on the worst team in the nba, a team with kobe would never be the worst team. Plus he doesn't point fingers and cry as much as t-mac. Not to mention he is a hands down better defender. The only thing better about t-mac is he scored more this past year. But now that he has a good big man in houston and kobe doesn't that wont even be the case. This poll is bias because he's a rocket, if kobe was a rocket or even not a laker he would win this poll
I'm a little surprised T-Mac is this far ahead. He is great player, but Kobe is the best 2 guard in the game.
I voted for Tracy! Honestly, I don't know if I would of voted for Tracy prior to the trade though. I hope I still vote for him after this season. He better not opt out!
I voted for kobe simply because hes the guy you go to in the 4th quarter when your down by 3 with 12 seconds remaining. And from reading about T-mac from other magic fans, T-mac hasnt shown that yet.
I used to think Kobe better than TMac. But the playoff run this year changed my opinion. In the Rox-Laker series, JVG chose to double Kobe more than Shaq. And Kobe shot 38%. Also in the finals, he almost shut down completely by Prince alone. He became much less effective when the defense was focused on him rather than Shaq. He can be stopped. Keep in mind TMac was always double-teamed in Orlando and he still got 30 pts on 42+% shooting. He also averaged 31.7 pts against Prince in last year's playoff series. Unless Kobe can return to his 40+ hot streak, I will give Tmac the nod on offense. In fact, even Kobe averaged 35 pts last March, he wouldn't have the stamina to keep the performance all season. And TMac averaged 32.1 pts on 44% shooting last season.
Probably Kobe. Awfully hard to say, though. McGrady's extra couple inches are awfully nice. But Bryant plays better defense and has better control of his body. I think McGrady has more natural athleticism, but Bryant has toned himself better.
It's a totally different situation, different coach, and better defense. As far as stamina, kobe is one of the best condition athletes in the NBA.
last year's Pistons also known for their defense. This year they just got better in offense. Remember Kobe finally got tired to jack up shots to continue his 40 streak.
If this question was asked before this year, I'd say Kobe w/o hesitation. But this past year's Kobe was way too selfish for my taste. The way he just forced up bad shots after shots in the finals, trying to take over the game while ignoring Shaq, does not go well for me. It's one thing to jack up 25-30 shots when they're going in, but not at the horrendous rate that he was shooting. As for the clutch factor, do people say this based on evidence? Or simply the fact that you watch a lot more Lakers games/highlights/media-butt-kissing, so it would be "obvious" that Kobe is more clutch than T-Mac. I ask this because I refuse to believe that during the 3 years T-Mac carried his team to the playoffs, that there were other players on those Magic teams who could carry them in clutch situations.
There is so much bias here. My answer is Kobe. TMac just hasnt proven himself as much as Kobe has. Therefore, for now, the answer is Kobe.
The only thing Kobe has proven so far, is that he can dominate the opposition when on a team with another dominate player in the low post. I think who's better is quite debatable, being Kobe had Shaq, the greatest center since Hakeem, and T-mac's never been on a team with a good supporting cast when he's been asked to be kobe like.
That's an insult to all single-star led teams, especially Hakeem's rockets Just kidding. A team can have two superstars to pad stats. Most times they will make the padding job easier for each other because the defense wouldn't be focused on a single person. It's no fun to pad stats with three people on you all the time.
Good point Snowmt01 Just look at what Garnett was able to do for Cassell. He helped him arguablly have his best season in his career and Cassell helped Garnett be the MVP.
