QFT The 80s would not be known as the Magic/Bird era had that Rockets team been able to stay healthy and together.
hakeem and clyde were the best duo as far as i can remember. i dont remember sampson. i think i was too young. i really like tmac and yao duo but its unfortunate that combination never matured and reached its full potential. such a pity.
I like this answer! But I don't know whether to say "hey I like this answer", or instead add rep and say "hey I liked this answer". So many options, so much confusion, God help me.
Some put Dream And Clyde #1 because they won a Championship, but it wasn't dominant. When you think of a Doninant Duo it has to be Dream and Sampson.
Dream won our first championship without Clyde's service, and don't think Clyde was so necessary for our team. I mean our team might still win the championship the next season even without Clyde.
What? How does losing in 6 "prove," you can beat a team??? The Blazers and the Jazz both lost to Jordan's Bulls in 6, but I don't think ANYONE came away thinking, "Gee, Utah and Portland sure proved they could've beaten the Bulls!"
You obviously didn't watch the Rockets the year after the won the championship. They might not have made the playoffs without Clyde.
I think tinman was playing the deficiency card, saying that those rockets were missing a ton of components, yet they were able to take them to game 6.
Ahh. I see. Ok that's a good point. Regardless, I don't disagree with Tinman (and others) that without the drugs and the injuries to Sampson the 80s would've been very different.
I don't remember Olajuwon and Sampson Era...however, my choice will be Olajuwon and Drexler, no doubt!
1st picture: What are the players holding? 2nd picture: What are the players holding? 3rd picture: Nonsense. 4th picture: Nonsense. That should make it clear who gets my vote.
My point was we at least played them in the playoffs tough. The lakers didn't always beat the celtics in the finals . Detroit lost to the lakers in their first finals meeting Then beat them the next year. You get my point. get your 80s basketball right dude!
