Let's wait a year and make this poll again. Let's see how the defense falls into place when our centerpiece is re-occupying the middle. My favorite is definitely Francis and Cuttino. Such chemistry between the two. The best, to this point, is probably T-Mac and Sura when both were playing healthy, obviously. I guess that goes without saying. Man that was fun to watch.

Loving watching Brooks and Martin right now though. Martin's shot is oh so ugly. The kinda shot only a Rocket/King fan could love

Better then T-mac and Sura? Not even close. T-mac would light Martin up and Sura would bulldog Aaron defensively so that he would probably only score 10 points. Bob Sura was the man back before leg and back problems.

It's early for Martin and Brooks but we can look at their numbers right now and assume that is close to what they will give us in the future.

    Brooks/Martin:

43 PPG (on 32 shots per game)
    9 APG
    6 RPG

    McGrady/Sura

36 PPG (on 30 shots per game)
    11 APG
    11 RPG

The numbers look pretty close but considering how anemic Sura was on offense some nights I have to go with Brooks/Martin.

Um, Dave you don't just look at the offensive numbers.

Martin and Brooks both play horrible defense (Yes, McGrady was better back then in defense).

    Sura and Mac for sure.

Good point and one I considered but McGrady was a poor defender on more nights than he was a good one. Even in his first season here he was average overall. His defense that season is overrated because of what he did defensively in the playoffs.

Sura, was a gritty, hardnosed defender but he was an absolute ghost many nights on offense. I doubt we'll see many nights where Brooks or Martin put up 2 or 4 points in 30+ minutes. I loved watching Sura play but the guy is so overrated on this BBS it's kinda funny.

As a team who works better together and who make the team better better I have to stick with Martin/Brooks. I also think having Yao back will make a huge difference defensively for Brooks/Martin.
