Scott Stapp and Creed represent all that is wrong with Rock music today. I know alot of people like them, but man....I just think they are horrible.
You must be *CRAZY* Scott Stapp (those in the know call him SS or Super Sport cause he's so fast) owns rock n' roll. SS's on stage prance, devil may care good looks, and angelic howl are second to none. I am holding a cigarette lighter over my head as I post this dreaming of the next time I may hear the poetry that is Creed. -------->
Funny you mention this, because I was having a conversation about his signing a couple weeks ago. I'm gonna get bashed for this, but if you listen to their new cd, he sounds absolutely horrible. I could think of a bunch of singers who are way better then him. Overrated.
what's up with him and those leather pants. When I saw them perform live and he came out in those leather pants, I almost threw up.
In no particular order... Alice Cooper Lou Reed Robert Plant Roger Daltrey Mick Jagger Elton John Freddie Mercury Eddie Vedder John Lennon Paul McCartney
And were in the heck is Ian Ashbury. That guy can belt it out seven days a week and twice on Sundays.
My determiner for this is who "stands apart" from the crowd... David Lee Roth - The Van Halen years (the screams, grunts, attitude) Peter Gabriel -Genesis & solo (haunting uniqueness) Ric Okasek - The Cars (definitely distinct, but hardly really sang, yet still stood apart) Bradley Delp - Boston ("More Than A Feeling" -defines classic) Dennis DeYoung - Styx ("Come Sail Away" - redefines classic) Steve Perry - Journey (most distinct smooth, and at the same time, gravelly voice around) Ahh, those late '70's to early '80's memories of 12 hour long road trips to grandma's, and me and dad in the front seat jammin' the tunes. btw AntiSonic - Bon Jovi's second man, Richie Sambora made all the harmony work, and IMO was the real force behind the famous "Dead or Alive"... although I did like "Blaze of Glory" aka "Dead or Alive pt.2" (was Sambora in it also?) Now in harder metal... Halford wins without a doubt, though I never liked the group he was in.
Nahhhh. Dave Mustaine kills hetfield in the mid to late '80's thrash metal category. "Hello me, it's me again..." -simply clever. Too bad he had an accident and can't play the axe any more... or 'tallica'd be toast by now.
Rod Stewart was never in the Small Faces. The band broke up and reformed sans Marriott in the 70's as simply The Faces. That's whe Rod sang for them. Bot now that you mention it, Rod Stewart has an amazing rock voice, though he got incredibly cheesy in the 80's. Also, Marriott was the vocalist on "Ogden's Nut Gone Flake". Great album, but it doesn;t really compare to their earlier soul/mod stuff. Check out their BCC sessions disc...it will blow you away.
I love The Who,but Daltrey wasn't even the best vocalist in the band. In fact, he was their weakest link.
Great choice on Glenn Danzig - (the b*stard son of Jim Morrison and Elvis). Also like: Arthur Lee and Mike Ness
