Yeah, Eminem is a lyrical assassin. Have you heard the song "Girls" off the D-12 album? It has to be one of the greatest diss songs ever but not the greatest, that title goes to 2Pac's "Hit 'Em Up". But Eminem can fire some great lyrics himself.

The real greatest rapper from digital underground was Humpty, Tupac sux. Werd. Also the Beastie Boys, Will Smith (no love for the guy who doesn't drop f-bombs every 3 secs), and Weird Al Yankovic.

It's all about the Pentiums baby.

    Umm...

That is twice that Dr. Seuss aka Theodore Geisel has been mentioned in this thread (Rocketman95 mentioned him as well), and Snoop has been mentioned only once (by me).

Am I that out of touch with rap music??:D

No, Smeg's just that out of touch with previously-posted attempts at humor. Give him a break... news doesn't reach 'Stralia too fast... :)

    How about:

Run DMC, Tupac, Jay-Z, Nas, NWA(Collectively).

Some other rappers I like-Nelly, Bone Thugs, Dr. Dre.

Can't stand a lot of today's rap...For Example-Mystikal, Cashmoney(Yes, on the whole), DMX, Missy Elliott, Eve, Ludacris.

Best non-rap rhymer has to be the one and only Frank Sinatra, though I don't think he wrote his own stuff.

    Don't know why

I find it unfailingly impressive just how many words Q-Tip can rhyme with "abstract."

Well, BlastOff, since you were mentioning a couple recent names, I'll go away from the old coots who are griping about the kids today while sipping their warm milk and talk some new stuff. :D

I used to not like Jay Z. His early stuff really didn't flow to me. I like his work better now, but I think his stuff leans more toward being well produced than just good rhymes.

Ludacris and Ja Rule, I like more everytime I hear. Rule's voice is smooth and Ludacris' is just so damn strange sometimes it stands out.

Someone mentioned local stuff like Pat. He's getting a lot of play on the Box; definitely good stuff.
