KTSU -- pretty much the only FM station that gets any significant playing time on my radio 610 -- when I'm listening to the radio, I'm usually listening to this and lots and lots of CD's!
The "program directors" have no control over what gets played any more. Clear Channel controls the formats, Clear Channel controls the broadcasters, Clear Channel controls the playlists. "You. will. be. assimilated."
101.1 is the best in Houston for Rock. 103.7 for country. 104.1 sucks. My ex used to listen to that damn station all the time, so much I could barely stand to ride in the car with her. The damn prime time dj drives me ****ing nuts. His stupid prank calls and that annoying voice and chants don't help any either.
I listen to: AM: sports radio 610, business radio 650, la tremenda 1010 FM: the buzz 94.5, and then I flip around until I hear a song I like on stations like 101, 96.5, 93.7, 104.1, 106.9 and 107.9.
you know that prime time in radio is the drive home, right? the guy you're talking about is on later.
no primetime is the drive home show...last i checked 104 had the highest rated show in the state during the drive home...which ultimately made it the highest rated show in the state, period.
actually Kam is right: http://www.arbitron.com/newsroom/archive/03_19_03_radar.htm While Morning Drive (Monday-Friday, 6A-10A) is considered prime time for radio, the medium also reaches significant numbers of listeners throughout the day. Daypart Persons 12+ (000) Percent Persons 12+ Mon-Fri 6A-10A 187,590 79 Mon-Fri 10A-3P 169,887 71 Mon-Fri 3P-7P 186,685 78 Mon-Fri 7P-12Mid 116,712 49 Sat–Sun 12Mid-12Mid 180,712 76 But my understanding that this is not the trend in Houston...that drive home is the more significant number here...and given how close they are...(78 in the afternoon...79 in the morning) you can see how that might fluctuate from market to market. curiously, prime time for TV is the weakest time for radio
