Did you ever play "Count the Bobs"? Try to count how many times the name "Bob" is said during an episode. Of course this later morphed into "Drink to Bob", where you take a drink everytime "Bob" is said.
The original Bob show was classic... I wasnt a huge fan of Bob..but I loved the nutcases he had around him.. and when I was young...I had a thing for Suzanne Pleshette..
Yep, thats the show. The best part of the show is when Paul and Paul Jr. fight (which is almost every min of every show). Now THAT is a bonafide reality TV show.
The series finale of Newhart is hands down the best finale to a television show ever. Even though St. Elsewhere's was close (same concept).
I used to love FOX's early-mid 90s Thursday night lineup of Martin, Living Single (The show that Friends ripped off), and New York Undercover. Man, everybody in the hood used to watch that lineup back in the day.
This was one of the greatest shows on TV, until they introduced the white cop near the show's end. The storyline involving Ice-T and Naomi Campbell was one of my favorite plot lines in TV history.
I liked the NBC Must See Thursday line-up circa 1994 with the then-still-good Mad About You, a first-season Friends, Seinfeld, the weak and short-lived Madman of the People and a first-season ER was pretty good. And what great gimmicks that season. Jaime causes a New York black-out disconnecting an illegal cable hook-up on Mad About You causing Chandler to be stuck in an ATM vestibule with Jill Goodacre on Friends and Dabney Coleman to somehow end up in jail on Madman of the People. (despite the show's New York location, Seinfeld refused to participate in Block Out night). Why no such gimmicks today?
Yeah, you are right about Friends and Martin. I stopped watching this line up around 1994, when I really got into Seinfeld, I was slipping for a year and then Martin became absolutely to stupid.
I may be wrong but I believe in the early 90's the Fox lineup was - Get A Life Great Scott The Ben Stiller Show. Maybe I'm confused because all of those shows were cancelled. But they were all on fox, and I think it was all on the same night.
Get a Life kicked ass!! It's a shame that show only lasted two seasons...one of the funniest, most original, most twisted shows ever. I saw it on VHS a while back, but I'll have to check to see if it's on DVD...
The WB on tuesdays while they still had Buffy. BtVS Angel A situation that also allowed for more than their fair share of two hour Buffy/Angel crossover events. The Recent HBO Friday and Sunday nights. ARLI$$, Dennis Miller, RealTime (at least he has good panelists a resonable amount of the time, and Paul Tompkins is funny), Mr. Show, the Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Oz, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and sometimes Da Ali G Show are all good shows
