What about Mr. Gootan's famed "Wang" post in the TowelBoy thread? That was a doozy :).

Wind and Sea for quality and consistancy. A-Train for laughs.

damnit manny, you have good memory. It's a heck of a job to remember 96 usernames like vj23k (hah, no offense here vj).

Or are you taking names when we are doing the Miami bashing? :p :D

It's my solemn pledge that I will be a known (and respected) player by the time that the next tourney rolls around. My grueling traing schedule shall include the following tasks

Carpal tunel (sp?) rehab: check
Quit work: check
Keyboard wrist pad: check
Glare filter: check
Dump girlfriend: check
League pass subscription: check
Thought provoking takes: ............................(can't have everything:cool: )

Since it makes you feel better....:p

...but it's cool. With 350 + quality posters out of the way, I'll be a shoe-in for the next tournament for sure. :D

I should do my civic duty and vote this time.

Or maybe my civic duty should be not to waste server space. Hmmm....

But talking about elections is making me depressed now. Stupid Republican-controlled Senate (grumble) *

*no offense to strong Republicans. At least someone's happy.

If Nolen hasn't been nominated, consider this an endorsement. If you want to know why I'm nominating him, see my sig.

Yeah I agree. I began not to read it when he first posted it (so damn long) but luckily I did. Probably the best post I've read since joining this site not very long ago. Kudos to Nolen for such a good post and to you for acknowledging it in your sig. I still miss Jam Master Jay though.

Okay, good point about El having that one post about Quitten.

Also, I forgot about Relativist, as well as Live and Nolen.

Those 3 have been added.

Unless there is anyone else like that, that I have forgotten, I think the field of 96 is set.

Uhh, Manny...don't you have a date to get ready for this weekend? :)

Manny's Date: Oh Manny, this has been a WONDERFUL date! You are definitely the most romantic, caring, funny guy I have gone out in a while! Normally, I'm not this affectionate with guys on the first date, but you are such a breath of fresh air! Come on, Manny, let's do it! Take me! Take me now!

Manny: Uhhh...can you hold on for a few minutes? I have to update the best poster tournament on the Clutch City BBS...

ROTFLMFAO!!:D

It won't interfere because I'm using a 48 hour timeframe for voting starting with the first one at 9:00 tonight, then the next at Friday at 9, followed by Sunday, etc.

So, it works out where I can enjoy my date and this tournament...truly the best of both worlds!:D

I'm wondering if this board is praying that this first date turns into many more dates...

Fellow citizens of cc.net. It is with great pride that I accept my entrance into this heralded event. Few things in my thirty years of existence have brought me this level of...joy. Just knowing I am in the top 224 or so posters makes me feel proud beyond words.

I must amdmit that my paltry 330 or so posts since I signed up in February of 2000, (nearly three years ago) only averages out to about 1 every three or four days. But I am so honored that the brilliance of my posts has been recognized.

Should I fall behind in the race I will immediately record a song about clutchcity.net to boost my chances. If that doesn't work then I will crawl in a cave and await death.

In the immortal words of Kirsten Dunst:

Bring it On!

If you really want to run this tournament, Manny, that's perfectly fine, but I think this responsiblity and burden should fall to none other than Jeff, since he won the previous challenge. It should be the duty of the previous winner to conduct any following tournament. Noncompliance will result in loss of title, honors, fame, medals, and the large suitcase full of cash the winner received as his prize.

Or, in the event that Jeff is busy, I say let the "Hangout Boy" earn his title (and keep) for a change. :)

Besides, you might be called upon (again) to defend the University of Miami's honor this Saturday from rabid, unmerciless college football fans. You'll undoubtedly need time to prepare.

Manny,

As DoD said, Windandsea is winning this. sigh. we need 2 weeks of this....not unless the contestant post pictures of themselves in Nightgowns and Swimming Suits.

Okay, I got back earlier than I thought from class.

Oh, and contrary to your opinion, HP, there are quite a few people who think that windandsea will not win this thing.

I admit that he is one of the favorites, but it is not a "sure thing" that he is going to win.

Besides, this is a problem with this BBS sometimes. There are too many posters that are good ones but are never in the limelight like you, me, DoD, etc. It is time to give them some credit.

So, if this thing bothers you so much, don't open the thread...no one is forcing you to participate in it.

I give posters i like limelight in other ways. It's called "Kudos" and responding to their great posts, and adding to their point when they say "comments"

flooding a board with dozens of threads in a popularity contest is just odd to me.

just adding my .02 cents

make yourself busy.
