Am I the only (other) one that thinks Popeye's absolutely dominates KFC? The fried chicken is more crispy, they offer spicy chicken, and the mashed potatoes and gravy isn't as bland due to the use of "Cajun spices."
Another fast food place I've been eating at a lot lately is Chipotle. I eat there at least once a week.
OTHER: Beck's Prime and Popeye's (is james coney island fast food? that could substantially change my answer)
What is the name of that place in Houston's? Taco Cabana? Pretty decent fajitas. But for actual fast food---greasy, artery-killing, why-did-I-just-eat-that-?-I'm-so-stupid fast food---I like Chick Fil A.
Stupid thread. I just ate my nice, healthy oatmeal breakfast and now I'm craving burgers and burritos.
I forgot to add: any poll regarding a "favorite fast food restaurant" that doesn't include taco bell is automatically the worst post ever. From this point forward, you are hereby relegated to sucking worse than you already do.
When I went to law school at UH, my dad sat me down and had a talk with me. "Son...I want to talk to you about going to law school there at UH. You're going to get hungry sometimes, son. Frency's. Frenchy's is the answer. Look to Frenchy's." Wisdom. Pure wisdom.
Hey POLE! You ever eaten at Alfie's Fish and Chips in Texas City? That is some damn good food. I worked at Long John Silver's when they opened up at the old Taco Bell location in TC, and remember the place was consistently packed the first week it opened up. I remember thinking, "Damn, Alfie's is GONE!" Well, six months later, Long John Siver's was closing down, and Alfie's is still going strong...funny how things work out.
I'm going through Fuddrucker's drive through today. Out of the major chains, I love Wendy's hamburgers, Chick-fil-a chicken sandwhiches, and Popeye's chicken. Frenchy's chicken is the best fried chicken in Houston. That's an absolute.
Damn I forgot about Culver's! When I lived in Austin I drove by that place at least a hundred times and saw the sign "Custard" and thought "WTF?! Custard. Go home yankee bastards!" Finally the wife drug my in there and I am glad she did. The burgers and shakes were awesome. The real burgers actually look like the pictures on the menu... check it out!
I have not....and I get the urge for fried fish every once in a while. And I'm really sad to say that I've never been to Frenchy's......although I'd be really surprised if I ever found fried chicken better than my own. Actually, economics basically stipulate that you HAVE to deep fry chicken in the mass production environment of a restaurant. That's the main reason why I don't think any restaurant can hold a candle to my pan friend chicken. I cook it just like your grandma does....only better.
I never saw that place when I was in Austin, where is it? Everytime I visit Austin, I have to make a stop by Player's. The leamonade, uuummmm, not to mention the burgers.
