Ok guys, please help me out here. We need: HOU to lose DEN to win and TOR to win to get the best possible scenario for the draft. Is that correct? IF not, please explain. Thanks!
I'll add to that. First, the Raptors must win, but if they do we would also like the Bucks to win. That means we would get the 14th pick rather than the 15th. If the Raptors win, the Bucks lose, and the Magic win, the Rockets will have the 15th pick. But if all the of those teams lost, that would still give the Rockets the 14th pick. Man, this lottery stuff is really a maze of logic. And the fact that Cleveland is playing the Raptors makes it even more confusing. But I guess since it would be a miracle if the Rockets won tonight, there's probably no chance of us tying Cleveland and ending up with the sixth pick. I still don't think anyone has answered what would happen if the Nuggets and Rockets are tied for the 4th worst record in the league. I've heard two different things. One, is they get the same number of balls. Two, is they flip a coin, and the one who guesses right gets the 4th worst record and therefore, more ping pong balls. So, which is it???
If Hou and Den tie they split the nuber of balls for the lottery. But if neither get in the top 3 in the lottery a coin flip determines who drafts first among them.
