Head of State with Chris Rock. I love it when he talks about blacks and whites...oh, I forgot, thats every Chris Rock movie or skit.
Excalibur. The Manchurian Candidate (the one with oldie but hottie Glenn Close) is my second place choice. nothing comes close to Jeff, or to the movie? I'm CONFuUuUuuSed...
The movie that affected my politics the most was Salvador. Also an excellent movie aside from the politics.
If you guys like serious political shows, you must check out the best: The Missles of October An incredible representation of Kennedy and the Cuban Missle Crisis. Alhough the dialogue is fictional, the events and storyline are true accounts (including the screamed line, "Don't wait for the translation, answer the question!!!") It was a TV production in front of a live audience, but it watches like a movie. Great show! -- droxford
Most of the ones on my list have already been said so I will agree with: Dr. Strangelove, All The President's Men, and Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. I'd also like to add Malcolm X. There are several others I like too, but those are the top ones.
That reminds me of Thirteen Days. Very underrated movie, IMO. I also wanna throw my support towards Dr. Strangelove.
Star Wars....People fighting back against tyranny. Red Dawn/Rocky 4 Silly movies, but I'm very much in favor of democracy/capitalism. Not really a movie, but the episode of the Simpsons where Lisa wishes for world peace. Best example of why 2nd amendment is needed. A few good men/ 12 angry men for their looks at judicial side.
Ghosts of Mississippi I'm checking in on a movie now about the re-opening of the Medgar Evers murder trial around 1985-- don't know the name of it but I've seen it before and it is very compelling (Alec Baldwin, James Woods, Craig T. Nelson, Whoopie Goldberg).
