I think Nash is by far the best point guard in the league, but I have disagree on the best player.

For as good as Nash is, i think there are at least 5 or 6 better players than him.

Kobe, Duncan, Garnett, Lebron...definitely they're just superior players (all-round).

    Wade, T-Mac, Yao, Boozer....maybe/borderline

The best pg is Steve Nash. The best young pg is Deron Williams.

If I want to win this year give me Jason Kidd all the way.

I'll take Nash if I want to put asses in the seats.

If I'm on a 5 year plan I'll take Chris Paul.

For a game? Nash by a hair.

For a season or a playoff series? Deron Williams by a lot.

Deron Williams is already nearly as good as Nash when you consider that he's worlds better on defense. Add to that the fact that Nash's back has become a huge liability, and I'd rather have Deron Williams. God, I hate that the Jazz picked him.

If I want a young Isiah Thomas, I'll take Chris Paul.
If I want to make it to the finals, I'll take Nash.
If I want to make it far in the playoffs, I'll take Deron Williams.
If I want a leader who will make shots in the 4th quarter, Sam. No doubt about it.
If I want to get a bunch of assists and beat scrub teams in the East but choke cause my PG can't shoot worth a nick, I'll take Kidd.
If I want the Sam Cassell of the East, I'll take Billups.

Actually I wouldn't take Parker over Nash, even with rings and slightly better defense. Nash is the guy for now until CP3 or D-Will make that extra jump, which will happen soon.

You obviously don't calculate defense into your assumption. Nash and Cassell are some of the biggest defensive liabilities in the league. Jason Kidd is one of the greatest perimeter defenders of his time.

Also, Nash has to have a system built around him, Imagine Nash with Yao....
Can Nash get you 15 Rebounds? Jason kidd has Battier like intangibles that go a long way in my mind.

Sam Cassell better than JKidd? Am I taking crazy pills?

But JKidd's defense and rebound is way better than Nash

    I'll take both of them

I still like DWill better, but major props to Chris Paul against the Nets last night. With less than a minute to go and down by 4, the Hornets missed a shot and the Nets got the rebound. Game over? No. Paul ended up poking the ball away out to MoPete who drilled a 3 pointer and got fouled. He hit the FT for a 4 point play and a tie game. The Nets missed, Paul brought the ball upcourt and held on to it. Then he attacked the rim and finished with <3 seconds left.

You talk about snatching victory from the jaws of defeat! The Nets have to be heartbroken about blowing that game, thanks to Chris Paul. IMO, this was just as sweet as DWill's coast to coast game-winner against the Cavs last week.

Both of these two guys are special. Which one turns out better is still up for debate. I enjoy watching them play, and after last night's game, I'll try to catch the Hornets more often. Just wow!

P.S: This game may have been a preview of what Sean Williams will be. After consistently giving Paul trouble when he went towards the rim, Frank didn't have him on the floor at the end. Just dumb.
