Point guards are all different, you hardly ever find yourself saying this point guard plays exactly like this one etc. So this means obviously some are better fits than others... if you swapped Rose and Rondo around I think both teams actually get worse. Rondo is the sort of player any good team with other good players on it will want and hes very good at the job and sure he can even carry the team, however I think if you were starting a team you gotta take Rose because he can be the main man.. you put him on the Wolves and they improve a lot... you put Rondo on there and I doubt they do as much but then if your the Lakers you probably take Rondo because you don't need the scoring as much and the better defense is a big plus against teams with good PG's. On another note I also don't like when people look at someone like Rose and say he's not as good a passer as a Nash or Rondo just off lower assist numbers and therefore say the better 'passers' are better point guards. As a point guard your aim is to assist in completing the offensive play, now someone like Rose is more gifted at scoring than say Rondo or Nash so his ratio of when to shoot himself compared to dish the ball is going to be higher, this doesn't mean he's not as good of a passer as the others.. he has 5.5 less assist's than Rondo but also scores 14 more points. Assuming an assist is worth a little more than 2 points you can see their team offensive input is near dead even, on teams with only .7 difference in scoring.
