One word: DRIVER That is the illest Playstation game (after Metal Gear Solid) ever to hit the racks. Give it a try if you haven't already.
Driving the guy to the mob hit is one of the boldest moves in gaming in a Long time. I was freakin shocked and I loved it.
PC Games: Quake Unreal Unreal Tournament Roller Coaster Tycoon StarCraft WarCraft Playstation SoulBlade is my favorite all time game. I won a couple of tournaments locally here back in the day. I can't wait for PS2 to come out. I heard its going to be dual compatible. Meaning, you can still get PSI to play on it. I don't know if anyone has Segas Mutant League Football. I thought that game was awesome!
As far as Playstation goes, everyone is forgetting what is one of the greatest RPGs ever. And, no, it doesn't have Final Fantasy in the title, but it is made by the same company: Xenogears. I'll have to admit, though, that is was text intensive, which probably turned a lot of people away. Their loss. =) Lord Tree
My favorite games are NBA LIVE 2000 and CRASH BANDICOOT. NBA LIVE has everything but the Slam Dunk Contest, and I bet that will be there for 2001. Tip for everyone with little kids: Don't get them that Rugrats game. My 5 year old cousin got bored playing that! Also, don't get an NBA game for the PC. To play it, you really need an EA SPORTS PC controller, and I couldn't find one anywhere!
NES: Metroid, Kid Icarus, Super Mario Bros, Zelda 1&2... Genesis: Spider-Man(Sega's AWESOME true to the comics version- NOT Acclaim's horrible offering.) Super NES: Yoshi's Island- IMO the best side-scrolling game of all time N64: NBA Hangtime(racking up quadruple doubles with Drexler is sill a blast!) Dreamcast: Armada(SUPER-addictive!!!)
Caucasion... How can you like that Ready 2 Rumble. I think its just horrible. Limited, and quite slow on the combo's. Dreamcast... Soul Caliber is absolutely amazing NFL and NBA2k rock solid. Anyone know about NHL2k? Still waiting on Shenmue, Castlevania, Resident Evil, and Rainbow six. And by god, how could I forget Metroid. It was the coolest. Anyone remember R.O.B., for the Nintendo?
I've seen quite a bit of the Japanese Shenmue. It looks to be a very interesting game with A LOT to do. It does seem to lack some "cohesion" between everything that goes on... a sort of grand design to everything, I guess. Admittedly, my Japanese isn't all that great, so I am missing stuff. Another one of my playstation and all-time favorites is Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It didn't sell well, but was a superb game. Lord Tree
Tree- I forget about that one. Symphony was the only game other than Metal Gear that I couldn't finish in the four day rental period. ------------------ The truth is out there.
We have a Nintendo JUST so we can keep playing RBI. And for good laughs, the local laundry/bar has RBI 3, complete with the roundest players I've ever seen (although I think Fernando Valenzuela is probably drawn to scale). And those sound effects on fly balls are music to my ears...
I never seem to have the time for video games like I used to, but I still have my favs: •Playstation: -Mortal Kombat Trilogy (never really mastered this one, but I can still kick some ass). -Street Fighter collection (I'll beat the hell out of anyone on this one, and you can quote me on that). -Jedi Masters doesn't really qualify as a favorite, but I think it had alot of potential. I'd like to see a new/better version with more characters to choose from. Oldie but goodie favs: •Super Nintendo -NBA Jam TE is my game. •Atari (for those of us old enough to remember it) -Remember Pitfall? That game was awesome. -Defender was an awesome game too. I'm waiting for the Playstation II before I get any more games. I can't wait to see the next versions of games like King of the Ring, NBA 200x, etc. ------------------ I need a new signature. 302
