Ft Collins? Eh, I prefer Grand Junction if you're talking CO towns. Boise is a great town... I'd move there if an opportunity came up. Scottsdale sucks... it's like if you distilled the most offensive parts of Dallas and mixed it with the most offensive parts of LA (but without the talent) and gave everyone more money than sense. A faker place I have not yet been to. The rest I have no opinion on, though Sugarland would not be my first choice were I to move to the Houston area.
I would say that the household income is skewed just a bit due to all the pro athletes that live there.
The Woodlands is only 8-9 miles further from downtown Houston than Sugarland. Why is that such a great trek? I'd much rather drive 45 north than 59 or 10 in any direction.
Well, not really. There are tons of physicians and engineers and successful businessmen who live there. a median income of $90k+ sounds about right, IMO.
That's true, I visited there last year, and it was tucked away in the wooded hills with lots of historic shops and stuff. It doesn't really fit with the other cookie cutter burbs on that top-10 list.
You can't possibly put 59 south and I-10 in the same class, can you? 59 toward Sugar Land is a breeze these days.
That looks like a pretty crappy list. I get the feeling their priorities are very different from mine.
I-10 will be as well in a couple years. I-45 North sucks between downtown and the Beltway it seems. Plus, once you're actually to The Woodlands on 45, depending on where the person you visit lives, it could be another 10 minutes or so to get there.
I haven't driven on 59 in a couple of months so perhaps its fantastic now. I know it used to suck. While there is traffic on 45, I've never thought it is as bad as other freeways. 290 and I-10 are still horrible. I think most people that crap on The Woodlands has never spent much time out here, driven by the mall, or have only been to the mall or the pavillion.
