I havent been to the one in Milam in a long ass time. I used to go a lot when I was younger. Back when I was 10, 11, 12 years old.

I also went to this place near Bellaire near Mary Bates dr.

I've been to the one at Tidwell near 290 also.

I've also been to a place near Antoine and Vets Memorial.

bun thit nuong is like shredded pork and charbroiled pork served with a bowl of vermicelli, salad, bean sprouts, and spicy sauce.

well, i don't really like bun thit nuong from pho cong ly or mai's. i usually eat bun thit nuong at pho 21 and pho saigon off fuqua.

    Hmm. Everybody sing!

"You must take the Ass-beated-down train
To go to Sugar Hill way up in Harlem

If you miss the Ass-beated-down train
You'll find you missed the quickest way to Harlem

Hurry, get on, now it's coming
    Listen to those rails a-humming

All aboard, get on the Ass-beated-down train
Soon you will be on Sugar Hill in Harlem."

No, I'll have to stick with Ellington's original lyrics. They scan better with the tune.

I haven't had Pho in a long time, but I'm starting to get the itch for some. I love Vietnamese food, vermiccelli bowls are good but if you need a quick lunch, nothing beats a vietnamese sandwhich (or 2).

I'll call anything I want to "crap", just like I'll call your post a big pile of crap...I tried it, and it tasted like crap...

...and no, I didn't call all Vietnamese food crap, just the Pho...

Go to Korean Gardens on Blalock and a little of of Long Point. It's the best Korean food I've ever had and I've been going there for years. They have been praised in the Chronicle a few times. They are known for their five lunch specials on weekdays and you can't go wrong with any of them.

I could eat Pho for days straight...so simple, but I'm addicted to the stuff. I'm in Dallas, so I'm of no help to you and your Houston search.

Now if I would only take the time to learn how to use chopsticks... :)

The Tau Bay on Bellaire is my personal fave. The Tau Bay on 59S & Beechnut is very good also.

It's called hoisen sauce. The rooter sauce is Siracha Sauce.

The best pho in the downtown area is pho Cong Ly. The best in the bellaire area is Van Loc (I think that's the name). And Pho 95 on Greens Road and Veterans Memorial is the best up north.

Stick with ordering "Pho Thai" if you get grossed out by the liver and intestines stuff.

Learn to speak before you slam someone, especially since he wasn't trying to slam you.

Meet azn-baller, everyone, the asian Another Brother...

I've had Pho Cong Ly, Pho 21, and Pho Saigon, and I have to say Pho Cong Ly wins. Rather eat it at my friend's house, though, his mom can cook a mean pho.

What's with that rectangular block of fat in pho? Who eats that?

I'm suspecting that there's only 4 dishes at a Vietnamese restaurant. #12 through #48 is almost the same thing, except it's a larger bowl or has an extra slice of pork.

I totally agree with you Pasox2 about the cute waitress @ Pho 21 on Fuqua! Her English sucks but she's a cutie (and the pho's not bad either). Can't believe this thread is going from pho -> bashing -> cute Vietnamese waitresses.

To bring the thread back on course, I like the pho @ Pho 21 on Fuqua and Pho Saigon in downtown. Haven't been back to the pho places on Bellaire in awhile so can't comment on them. I thought the pho at Pho Cong Ly in downtown has gone downhill. And I've never been to the small shack pho place near the old Dolby Highschool but have heard that it's the best in town.

Everyone has a right to their own opinion and I think pho rocks! :)
