Well as of now Which Wich is winning. Food is healthy and tastes damb good. Gengis is another decent choice.
There's a pizza place behind my work that I like to go to. The pizza's good, it's never crowded, and they always have sports on the tv (usually soccer, but still). If they served beer, I'd be there every day. I usually just end up driving through McDonald's, Chik-fil-a, or Arby's (Angus bacon cheddar sandwich ftw!) and eating in the backroom while watching Jeopardy.
I usually walk to the Kroger on Montrose. Less than $5 and I get a baked chicken breast and two veggie sides. Oh how I wish Whole Foods was within walking distance. Otherwise, Niko Niko's or Barnaby's if I have a date, 369 Oriental which I can make two meals from, or Wendy's half-size chicken Caesar.
My very first job out of college was retail "management." I left for something better after two weeks, but for that whole time in June, every lunch I would get a Slice-Slice from Little Caesar's and eat in my car, with the A/C off, like a normal person. After that job I worked about 5 minutes from Westroads Mall, in Omaha; and used to get a stromboli from Sbarro's everyday for lunch. One day a few years ago, a couple of hours after lunch, everyone's crowded around the TVs at work and I see the Von Maur store that's right next to the food court on CNN; after that nine-person shooting.
I usually eat in the handicap stall. There is more room in there than the normal ones and you only get 1 person next to you max, cause it's generally at the end.
I switch between Subway, Raising Canes, Bullritos, and Jason's Deli. Sometimes Five Guys and the express lunch at Randalls (cheap, fast, and pretty good).
Mongolian grill places are awesome (and surprisingly inexpensive) whether for lunch or dinner. Genghis Grill, Kublai Khan & Great Khan are all pretty good. Love SmashBurger as well. Btw, I know some people think the idea of a lunch lasting longer than 30 minutes is outrageous, but you know, not everybody is a hourly wage worker. Some of us have salaries and we may not be CEOs or upper managers, but we can still leave for lunch at 11:30 and come back to the office at 1pm.
Oh, well excuse me, Mr. Trump. My "official" lunch is 30 minutes, but I usually take about 2 hours. People here don't care what you do as long as you make your deadlines. I'm limited to places I can walk, since I take the bus to work. Subway, Pei Wei, food court in our complex... They just built a Whole Foods across from my building but I've yet to walk over. How is the deli?
Rotate between Thai, sushi, vietnamese sandwiches, burgers, Treebears, Little Niko's, cuban, Ragin Cajun, BB's, dumplings, Bombay Pizza. Try to make it a sit down restaurant and get some time away from work.
