You guys have given me a lot of content but I wonder how much of it is 'they still call me bruce' and 'hercules in new york' ..the campy stuff. "Warriors come out and play.
In that vein there movis like serpico chinatown raging bull are on my list.
there is a lot to get to and the anytime I get a moment to watch a movie i draw a blank..

I enjoy commando frequently. It is my go to..
I went through a phase where I would watch after hours with griffin dunne / rosanna arquette. Cheech and chong are in it... it captured a time when new york was different. I was disappointed to later learn portions were lifted from another story. Also that whole movies plot today could be resolved by a cell phone. Lots of 80s movies we can say that though..honorable mentions ' i want my two dollars' and at 13 and puberty ' zapped' with scott baio comes to mind

I like the sleeper a lot with woody allen ..perhaps not all that obscure either but quite amusing.

    We are same age

Krull is totally badass, so is Beastmaster. Fattyfat can just go fat himself if he thinks otherwise.

Ok, I tried to find the best movie thread, but this was the best I could, ahem... find.

Y'all have to watch The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Dumbest name ever, but man, such a fun movie. I truly hope there is a sequel.

Oh, and, funny aside, to those who know my last name? (which is very unique in the US) Check out the Department store's name.

Seriously though, one of my favorite movies I've seen in years. But I love Spy movies and WWII stuff.

Starship Troopers is a very violent satire. When hundreds of desperate soldiers aren't being ripped to shreds by giant bugs, it can be quite funny. It's based on a classic SF novel by Robert Heinlein. I'd watch that before Gattaca.

Dead Again is a great movie.

Early Kenneth Branagh movie, very very good. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.

    Also

    Casa De Mi Padre

Has to be seen to be believed.

If you like Sam Rockwell, "Moon" is also a good movie.

"Prisoners" get a lot of love but I'm not sure how many people have heard/seen it.

I just saw "Brawl in Cell Block 99" and was really impressed with it. Deliberate pacing, but not necessarily slow, as well as being incredibly violent. Vince Vaughn does a surprisingly great job in a serious role.
