    If other, please list who.

I'm sure I'll get hammered for some of the omissions, like Vin Diesel, Harrison Ford, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, and even off the wall cult favorites like Thomas Jane.

I also omitted the Kung Fu stars because there are a good handful that I couldn't fit on the list.

Poll coming? Regardless, the answer is Matt Damon. The Bourne Movies have just been incredible.

Took me a minute to add the poll. I wish we could have more than 10 choices.

I'm not a huge Tobey Maguire fan, but I thought he did a fantastic job as Spider-Man.

also, RDJ has done a great job as Tony Stark.

    I went with Stratham.

    The Transporter movies kick ass.

I considered those two, but as a body of work, they aren't exactly 'action stars'. Might as well call Elijah Wood an action star by that reasoning.

Conversely, when I started thinking about this list, Orlando Bloom wasn't even on my radar. But look at all of the action movies he's done since 2000: All three Lord of the Rings movies, all three Pirates movies, Kingdom of Heaven and Blackhawk down (this is all off of the top of my head). Pretty impressive list.

Steve Austin: The Condemned (2007) .... Conrad
    or
    Gerard Butler: 300... King Leonidas

    or if animated characters count:
    Ray Winstone: Beowulf..... Beowulf

p.s. that list sucks and needs an other category

LMAO, you're telling him that his list sucks and then you list Stone Cold and a cartoon?

I voted for Stratham. He owns everything he's in. Can't wait for Crank 2, the first one was a nice surprise.

Between Will Smith and Statham for me. Smith right now, but Statham is popping out so many movies that he will become a household name soon enough.

Matt Damon is winning? Really? For the Bournes? Really?

I would hardly consider him an action star.

Statham. I can actually buy him kicking ass.

Matt Damon is great in the Bourne movies, but he still looks too short and skinny to realistically beat the crap out of anyone.

    Statham... hands down.

Although would Tony Ja (sp) be considered a non-kung fu star?

I agree that the list is incomplete- I asked Clutch for more poll options (although it won't effect this poll since you can't edit polls).

But Steve Austin (one movie?), Gerard Butler (didn't do much action before 300), Ray Winstone (a voice.) OR John Cena (Whom I'm sure you love) wouldn't have even made this list if I could make 25 options. :p

For the record, I voted Statham. He's the best pure action star right now in my book, closely followed by Will Smith.

It's funny to see how this poll is turning out. Tom Cruise doesn't have a single vote, even though he's put out some incredible action blockbusters in the past 8 years.

Can't I get a time machine and go back to 80s?

Half of these guys aren't action stars? They just happened to be Hollywood actors who are in action movies with starring roles.

Chuck Norris was in an action movie, like a few years ago, Arnold was in T3, and Stallone was in a few movies and the new Rambo.

So that counts for something, but I am going to have to choose someone....

I'll say Daniel Craig (James Bond) or Vinnie Jones
