Um...the N64 controller was the perfect video game controller. I can't speak for left-handers, but it fit perfectly in your hand and the buttons were perfectly placed. Granted, if you were trying to use the d-pad, it was a little difficult, but they could have worked on that, imo.
I didn't have one, but my friend did. We usually would play WM2000 and Super Smash Brothers a lot. That game was weird because it seems so "kiddy" but it was strangely addictive. Can't really remember what else we played...if there was anything else.
personal taste aside, the nintendo 64 controller will not be remembered as one of the best controllers of all time. then again, in retrospect, the whole system was flawed
The controller's fatal flaw was the fact that the control stick would end up dying on you after about a year or two of vigorous play. It was kind of annoying to have to keep buying a new one if you wanted to play the games right.
there were a couple of good WCW raslin' games. I think the NWO vs WCW was probably the best. A lot of fun.
What the heck! why hasnt anyone mentioned Perfect Dark yet! That game was like 10x better than Goldeneye
Actually, that game sucked. It was a crude Goldeneye rip off.. They pushed it's release date back almost TWO years.. by the time it came out, the 64 was dead in the water.. they should have just saved it for the Gamecube, it would have rocked then.
I can't believe no one else thinks that controller fits perfectly in one's hand?? And Perfect Dark was much better than GoldenEye -multiplayer, of course
Goldeneye - It was the best game ever up until Halo for Xbox came out. I can't even begin to figure out how many hours of 4 player free for all I played. I played multiplayer everyday on that game for who knows how long. Best 64 game, unquestionably.
Is anybody going to give love to Starfox 64?! I will! That game ROCKED! "Only I have the BRAINS to rule Lylat!" [Andross turns into huge brain, creating a clever pun]
Good game, but absoloutely no replayability as it was too easy to beat on all three routes. Also, the multiplayer could have been better. I must say though, the game is awesome the first time around. The constant communication between your squad members was great (save for Slippy, that stupid frog b*tch. God I hate him).
Umm, I always thought Slippy was either castrated or female. I always ended up letting him/her die. By far the best game was GOLDENEYE! I also liked Bryant Courtside. It was awesome for its time.
Yeah, fortunately, I have GoldenEye. Haven't played Perfect Dark though. May try that one. Jet Force Gemini and Super Smash Bros. sound like fun. How are the Donkey Kong games? I read that DK64 was good, but it hasn't even been mentioned here. Thoughts?
It's hard to believe, but the 4 player mode on Perfect Dark is actually better than GoldenEye. The weapons and boards are generally much better (and on boards you still have a lot of teh same levels).
