I've recently re-connected with my old love for music videos, and I've realized just how much they can add to a song. What are some of your favorite music videos from over the years? There are several I love...but my top 5 are probably... Sixteen Military Wives - The Decemberists Usually I don't like vids with political overtones, but I LOVE the Decemberists, this song, and the message of the video. This song is amazing live. Vidrar - Sigur Ros Sigur Ros are big activists, and in addition to the fact they're amazing musicians, that's what I love about them. This song is about two gay boys who have to deal with the disapproval of their fathers. Hell Yes - Beck I'm not a big fan of Guero but I fell in love with this song before the album was released...absolutely awesome video. I'm a fan of robots. January 1979 - mewithoutYou Probably my favorite band of all time, I love this video because it captures the eccentricities of lead singer Aaron Weiss I've come to love. Mordecai - Between the Buried and Me Pretty much my favorite song of all time. It's so complex, with the jazz solo in the middle that breaks into some epic guitar and drum work at the end.
I saw Hell Yes a couple weeks ago. Awesome video. Of course, I really haven't watched music videos on a regular basis in a long time, so most of my favorites are older ones: Sledgehammer Thriller Three Little Pigs Take on Me Pretty much all of Weird Al's videos Opposites Attract Coldhearted (I had a huge crush on Paula Abdul back in the day) Losing My Religion that's all I can think of for now...
Christina Aguilera - What a girl wants dear god, i never thought she was hot till i saw this video, that is one lucky dude towards the end non-chick video? Linkin Park - Points of Authority perfect video for the song.
aphex twins- rubber johnny safely stored in the "wtf" category of all time. watch when alone and at night: http://www.nearlygood.com/video/rubberjohnny.html
I could come in with my usual love for Nine Inch Nails, but I'm gonna go with something for the whole family... and easily one of the most priceless music videos of our time. Aphex Twin - Window Licker : Mirror
i would take that a tiny step further and just say anything that Richard James does is pretty much the ****.
Hop in the Way Back Machine Sherman and set it to 1984, check out: The Cars- Drive It was way ahead of it's time and set the bar for music video. And it had Paulina Porizkova, the future Ms. Ric Ocasik. He has a brand new CD out by the way. The one song I heard sounds like Cars so if you like that sort of stuff you might check it out. Don't know if it has a video...on VH2?
Svpernaut.. what the hell did you have me watch??? I'm not sure if that's one of the funnier things I've seen or one of the craziest...
