I'm just basing my knowledge off of food and I know that for juicing (vitamin rich) you get lots of health benefits and I know there's certain schools of thought that have been popping up and having success with treating some diseases with extremely high doses of vitamins

I can see how, and agree, high doses of specific vitamins in certain circumstances can be beneficial but i'm talking more about long term sustained usage. The problem i can see with a multivitamin is that it's not as a targeted delivery system as picking certain vegetables and fruits to eat and a lot of multis overkill their dosing. Yes, your body will flush out a lot of the excess in waste but I don't think our bodies were built to handle these excessive amounts of vitamins consistently dumped into us on top of a relatively healthy and well balanced diet.

I'm sure people on either side of the argument will post a bunch of studies that support what they think while conveniently discrediting others that differ, but at the end of the day I do believe moderation is key and more is not necessarily better.

yeah I mean it's certainly not something I follow. I just thought it was something cool to bring up. Interesting the amount of success that that kind of stuff can have. Also, not trying to get into a pissing match about vitamins. Only vitamin I ever take is a b12 complex horse pill thing

    Agreed.
More of a good thing isn't necessarily a good thing. Like all those morons that maximize protein and intake minimal carbs and fat. I guess it's great for musclebuilding and weight management. Goodbye to your kidneys in a decade.

    Ketogenic diets? Bad.
People are too concerned with short-term results and not invested enough in long-term effects of diets that are horribly mismanaged.

What if there was an infomercial that was like what if you could take just 1 pill to get all your vitamins/minerals for the day and you wouldn't have to change the way you eat! You can still eat cookies and pizza.

For some reason, we never think of it like that for multivitamins. Eat a balanced diet.

Does OP know what B12 does? This thread is a flood of misinformation. It's often said that Americans have the most expensive pee in the world, and this is why. Taking a bunch of vitamins for no reason and peeing them out.

Eat well and you'll be fine.

Take Motrin. It's great for post-workout and helps you bulk up.

The only multivitamin you should ever take is Kirkland brand at Costco. They're the only ones who have the balls to get their product tested to prove that what's on the label is what you're getting
