I believe Rushmore should win it.

Other notables, Crash, LOTR trilogy, Big Lebowski, Hero, Kung-Fu Hussle(I'm not kidding. If anyone gets a chance watch this.),

Also to anyone who has an all region DVD player get yourself a copy of Sympathy For Lady Vengeance. It is a Korean movie that is the most beautifully shot film I have ever seen. Almost every single shot in the movie is like a museum quality photo. Just look at the picture created in the lineup before the 'vengeance part'.

Ichi the Killer from Japan is also a good film.

I own the 2 disc Korean deluxe set. Kind of pointless though cuz I dont speak a lick of Korean but I had to see this movie before it was released in the states. I'd lay off on recommending Takashi Miike films on this board. They might pick up Visitor Q thinking it's a wholesome family film.

    I'm gonna throw in
    Amorres Perros
    Requiem for a Dream
    Breaking the Waves
    Anything by Wong Kar-Wai
    Mullholand Drive
    A.I.
    Three Kings
    ...so many more.

We should divide the options into decades. As well as start the debate on Schindler's List vs The Pianist or Saving Private Ryan vs The Thin Red Line.

Hmm... I'm thinking about renting two foreign movies... Oldboy and Internal Affairs. Heard they're VERY good.

Forgot to mention "Before Sunrise", and "Before Sunset". Just a great pair of movies.

Posters have already mentioned a lot of the movies I consider to be classics from this time period, but haven't seen mention of one that I really dig. It's not the "best movie", but one of.

    Casino.

I don't speak Korean either, but the one I saw had subtitles. Yes I should point out that the TAkashi films are very graphic, but so much so that it is almost cartoonish.

Audition was a good one too, but very strange.

True, that was a good movie. In fact it may have been so cleanly flawless that I don't give it enough credit.

You know I forgot about Black Hawk Down...very intense film, graphic, emotional..though probably not as epic as Saving Private Ryan.
