Based purely on watchability, Old School. I have no problem watching that movie over and over and over again.

    I also liked:
    Crash
    Snatch
    Rounders
    Van Wilder
    Batman Begins

The only one of those that is considered to be a "good" movie though is probably Crash. I haven't gotten a chance to see Munich, which I'm still looking really forward to.

    The original Brokeback Mountain.
Well not really, that title goes to Midnight Cowboy and My Own Private Idaho. But you get my point.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, however wrong it may be :p For me, Ep III was on par or better than Ep IV.

There's a lot of good movies listed here already, but I'll say the ones that truly transcend greatness would be Shawshank, Gladiator, Titanic, Kill Bill (1 and 2), and LOTR Trilogy and probably City of God too. A level below that would probably be the Matrix, HP, Star Wars and Spidey franchises.

LOTR trilogy - I had been waiting my whole life for technology to get to the point where this movie could be made in a form other then a cartoon.

Office Space - Hits just too close to home.

American Pie - I hadn't laughed that hard in ages.

Matrix - I wish they had stopped at one.

    I Robot - I don't know, I just liked it.

Kill Bill 1 was alright because it felt comic booky. To me, 2 lost that feel and sucked ass.

Either the LOTR Trilogy (yes, I can't pick one) or Shawshank Redemption.

Academy Award winners from this time period-

Out of these award winning films- I'd have to say that Titanic is best.
Was a great production and really revolutionized the technological aspect of movies. Also, think about how much controversy was stirred when Kate Winslett did her nude sceen. Also, it is one of the highest-grossing movies of all time. Plus if you carry around the VHS set in your pocket girls will always ask you "Is that the Titanic in your pocket... or are you just glad to see me."

whoops, what i meant was Revenge of the Jedi.

i just saw Titanic a few months ago for the first time since i saw it in theaters, and i realized (after kinda hating on it for all its popularity) that it was a really damn good movie. but i don't see how it revolutionized the tech aspect of movies. i know it cost the most ever at the time, but i don't see what it did from a special effects perspective that was so out of this world.

as for highest grossing, it is the highest grossing movie ever, and by a huge margin, $600M to Episode IV (A New Menace) with $461M. considering it never really had a huge breakout weekend, it makes it even more impressive that it obliterated the record.
