i knew someone would say that piece of crap....that was one of the worst movies i've ever seen and somehow it became this great movie. never got it. on my short list: big lebowski office space anchorman schindler's list saving private ryan
Well, I guess you're not a Star Wars fan because Revenge of the Sith was the best of all six Star Wars movies. I'm far from being a Star Wars nerd, but I'd bet possibly most of them would say it was the best.
It's a solid movie. Shame you didn't get it. Some of my candidates: Shawshank Redemption Kill Bill Vol. 1 Usual Suspects Adaptation Jurassic Park LOTR: The Two Towers
Kevin Spacey was incredible in it, and it was relevant in several ways. I thought it was an amazing thought-provoking movie about facades and what's really happening. Definitely on the top of my list. Others were Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Donnie Darko.
Best movie from that time era, I didn't think I would like before seeing it, and now think of as one of the best: Fight club... Tough to state an all out best though...top of list: (not in order) Star Wars 3 Underworld Underworld Evolutions Both Bourne's... Clear and present danger Spiderman Gladiator Goldeneye
BTW, can't wait for Agent 47 (or whatever it's called) starring Vin Diesal. Love the game, hope the movie as much as the game will endear me...
Gladiator and Schindler's List and Jurassic Park are both from 1993, though i guess they technically were still in theaters until 1994. and i thought it was funny that someone complained that the script of Return of the Sith was predictable.
Shawshank Redemption by a good margin IMHO. Usual Suspects, American Beauty, Se7en, and Crash following behind in no particular order.
LOTR: Return of the King (heck, the whole series) Toy Story Toy Story 2 Monsters, Inc. Finding Nemo The Usual Suspects The Matrix Fight Club Saving Private Ryan Shawshank Redemption High Fidelity
Really tough. Stargate is probably my favorite, but I tend to go Sci Fi. Other ones I like Garden State Anything with Cusack except Ice Harvest The Incredibles Fellowship of the ring Harry Potter 3 Matrix
This was the first post to argue someone's choice, but this goes for everyone else as well. There is no such thing as an objectively good or bad movie. In fact, the only objective way to measure a movie's quality would be by popularity, and most would agree that is not really a very good measure of the quality of art. Movies are art, and art is subjective. As such, just because you don't think a movie was the best, that doesn't mean that it was not the best to someone else. Likewise, just because you like a movie, does not mean that it was not a piece of crap to someone else. Citizen Kane is widely considered one of the best movies of all time. I thought it was terrible. To me, it was a bad movie, and that is all that really matters.
