Went to Fadi's on Westheimer / Dunvale a few months ago. Would say it was much better than Dimassi's.
The list of good Mediterranean restaurants in Houston is shown thusly: 1. House of Kabob 99. The others.
I've been to Big Marina's and it is pretty good. It's definitely better than Dimassis (which sucks). Fadi's and Cafe Layal aren't really expensive (I guess it depends on what your definition of expensive is)
Agreed.. Next time you go you should check out the interesting way they spell "Mediterranean" on their sign
Glad someone finally mentioned this. Phoenicia is the other place i hit up..but Kasra has better hummus.
Kasra is way overpriced. Also for the price Phoenecia's hummus is the best, plus you can buy fresh bread.
How so? Kubideh goes for like $7.99 at lunch. $1 more at dinner. Barg (filet mignon) is reasonably priced. Maybe their appetizers are a bit pricier than others but not by much. Their hummus is the best in Houston or anywhere for that matter.
+ you get that fresh bread straight from the fireplace to your table. + goat cheese and mint damn you for making me want it now.
^They changed their bread recently. Not cool. An Irani guy I know swears by their lamb shank but I've never tried it. Something a bit different that I like is their jujeh kabob (cornished hen).
That sucks, I loved their bread. Haven't been there in a few years because my wife doesn't like Mediterranean food, but I've destroyed many plates of beef kubideh there. They also had a rice I would get that has pistachios and dried cherries. That's it, I'm going next time I'm in Houston
really? Went there with six people for lunch and ordered their family grill platter or something. $69. plenty of meet, veggies, and rice. I normally have one of their meat platters for lunch and its about $10-12.
Really? I live right around I-10 and Bunker Hill and there's like absolutely no indication of one opening up there.
