solomon was the best man in my brother's wedding. I think i've named dropped that like 100 times on here. anyway, I've known him a long time, he's pretty funny and he knows sports. cool guy.
Come on, guys.. If you're talking about content, it's Pallilo, hands down. Matt & Adam are second, but Adam saves the show.. can't stand Matt J's squealing voice and getting pwned every night.
I only listen to it during the day, so I've never heard Matt & Adam. For my money, it's Charlie. The content is great, and he keeps things in line. I met him once at Kay's Lounge about five years ago, and I remember that he was a nice guy and extremely knowledgable about Houston sports and sports in general.
I've always wondered if Charlie had turned down national offers (as a correspondent or columnist) or local tv sports director gigs just so he could have the freedom and ease of local talk radio. I don't know if it's because of his New York-ishness, but the guy reminds me of national sports personalities, like Lupica or Albom. But maybe his lack of writing experience is, ultimately, what's kept him local. In any case, he's the best in the market. I haven't lived in Houston in four years, I was a seventh-string tight end at Baytown Lee when John Granato still anchored the Friday night High School Football show on Channel 51; and was loyal viewer of the Sports Night Live program, so I probably have to give him and Lance the second spot, just for sentimental reasons.
Charie has been asked that question a couple of times on his show. He stated that he prefers the day in day out ebb and flow of a season as opposed to just national stories.
Matt and Adam Although Adam sometimes gets on my nerves with his "cooler than the room" comments. For example, Clyde's being on Dancing with the Stars is a pretty cool thing I think, if you don't like the show fine, but don't imply everyone else that watches it is stupid. There are many examples of this tone but this is the most recent. Marc and Rich are my sentimental favorites.
For pure sports, Charlie is my favorite so I voted for him. I love listening to Matt and Adam though. Very entertaining and as mentioned before, they talk more Rockets than anyone else. Davies and Dukes have surprised me a little. They have gone from being completely un-listenable, to now where I think they are halfway decent at times. Marc and Rich as always bring up the rear. I wish 610 would do something about that show.
Per dskillz: "Charlie is aight, but he is so dry and boring that he puts me to sleep. I think that Matt and Adam on 610 probably has the best show. Knowledge, opinion, and entertainment. Though Davies and Dukes have gotten alot better since their change to the PTI-like format." I really like Matt and Adam. Charlie is extremely knowledgeable. I cannot take Rich Lord- so I very much favor charlie P over him. __________________

I really think Marc+Rich should simply have a football show... that's the only thing they seem to have a clue that they know what they're talking about. The difference is startling when you start asking Vandemeer some in-depth questions about baseball, or you start asking Rich some in-depth questions about the internet or any technology after 1995. Charlie is good... but more importantly, Dalati's updates are actually informative (as opposed to the usual blah... team x is playing team y tonight).
Charlie is the best followed by Matt and Adam and the very underated Monsters of the Midday. The best morning show is John and Lance. Davies and Dukes and Marc and Rich are both horrible shows that really need to be replaced.
John Lopez ticks me off everytime he opens up his mouth to yank about the Rockets. Biggest hater this side of Charlie Rosen. Spit. Palillo is pretty good, but Matt and Adam win for sheer entertainment value. Their show is almost like a breath of fresh air. Palillo might be more knowledgeable, but Matt and Adam are pretty knowledgeable in their own right and do a much better job of entertaining their audience with sparring sessions and debates and what not. Plus they are just more interactive/audience friendly than most radio show hosts. (They're the only guys on 610 who actually respond to my text messages.)
Palilo has the best sports show in Houston. Matt and Adam have the most entertaining sports show in Houston as the previous poster said. I voted for Matt and Adam but its really close. I don't understand the hate for Davies and Dukes. It's actually a pretty good show.
