I forgot about 'The Shadow of your Smile" by Pieces of a Dream and 'Oh Christmas Tree' by Oscar Peterson
I don't know if it's Jan Hammer or Barry Miles, but I love the keyboard parts on Al Di Meola's "Race with the Devil on Spanish Highway." I suspect it's Hammer, but I don't know for sure.
"That's Just The Way It Is" - Bruce Hornsby & The Range and was it "Head Over Heals" - Tears For Fears?, also, "Shout" Intro to "Let It Rock" - Bon Jovi's "Slippery When Wet" album King's X had a cool keyboard solo at the end of their self titled CD, song called "Silent Wind" The sound of the keys on my keyboard while I'm all by myself typing this usually makes a psuedo-rythmic melody.
Probably was Jan Hammer given the wierd Moog sounds used on that particular song. Miles was more of a piano guy. There are no liner notes for Elegant Gypsy, unfotunately. That's a great record. Personally, I'm not a big fan of synth, but I love great B3 organ, Rhodes electric piano and acoustic piano. I'd have to go with the B3 solo on Hush by Deep Purple - love the perc-o-lator - and for piano, just about anything from George Winston's "December" album or Chic Corea's Acoustic Band Live CD.
I sure miss the sound of the old Farfisa. A true Rock and Roll keyboard. (nevermind me, just reminiscing) RR
