Hula Hut was great the one time I've been, but by far, the Mexican food in houston/katy destroys anything in Austin.

    It's not even close.

Pappasitos, Molinas, Los Cucos all eat any Austin tex mex place for lunch if you ask me.

I agree with that statement....however I love Hula Hut's salsa. But I'd rather eat at several Houston establishments before going to Austin for Mexi.

Wolfies, 1960 and Stubner Airline. If you've been there, you know what I mean...

As a San Antonio native who lived in Houston for about 15yrs off and on..I would say Ninfas(Navigation) was the best there. San Antonio has tons of places better so Ill only mention sleepers that are cheap. Judys #2 , days only, Loop 410 and 281 South (Best in Texas)..La Cabana 281 So. evenings only, about 10 miles south of Judys, beyond loop 1604 (Incredible) nicer atmosphere. I like Chuys in Van Horn (John Maddens favorite) but either of the two I mentioned will make you hate Chuys.
But there no place like Houston for BarBQ..Lockwood Inn or Kozy Cafe on Lockwood. If they are still there, best in Texas.
