There is a new ice cream place in NW Houston on 290...by the new Skeeters and La Madeline...does anyone know the name of it?

I thought it might be Hank's....but Hank's sounds too mom and pop to expand.

I live right by it and have not tried it. I was wondering the same thing because their sign says something like proudly serving hanks ice cream. If it is selling the same ice cream from hanks on main ill be there everyday.

Ugh, I think Cold Stone is pretty gross.

    My favorites:

    Baskin Robbins Daquiri Ice
    Blue Bell Cookies n Cream
    Ben n Jerry's Cherry Garcia
Marble Slab Cheescake ice cream mixed with sprinkles in a sprinkled cone....yum!

I thought it said Hank's somewhere on there! If they're serving the same Hank's on Main then I will definitely be trying it out. I've never had Hank's...but after reading this thread it sounds like it's a "must try."

If it isnt the hanks you should go there and try it at the original location and meet mr. hank. Also while you are there go eat some soul food at Mommas Kitchen

Leons in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is pretty good. It's probably the only place in the country where you will find people waiting for ice cream outside in the cold on a january night. Kopps is good as well.

I definitely will...especially if this place isn't serving the Hank's from Main. I am hoping it is though! Thanks.

    Ice Cream is expensive.

I'd rather save the money for christmas gifts..

My favorite Blue Bell flavor is Caramel Sundae Crunch.

Caramel Sundae Crunch - Gold Rim
Combines a rich caramel ice cream and a caramel swirl with the crispy crunch of sugar cone pieces coated in dark chocolate.

I bet I've eaten at least 25 half gallons of this ice cream over the past 6 months. It's a seasonal flavor and I have not been able to find it for the past couple of weeks, so I guess I will try something else.

Why do you some of you dislike Cold Stone so much?

Braum's Ice Cream is really good. The best thing to ever come out of Tuttle, OK. And don't say Jason White cause Jason White succcks.

My Favorite is Sweet Cream from Marble Slab but I don't always order it b/c of the name.

I hate going up to the dude behind the counter/slab asking, "Can I have your Sweet Cream".

Mommas Kitchen or even the Baytown Seafood that's right there on the corner. That place makes some awesome fried shrimp.

If anyone wants to make it themselves, this is the Cadillac of ice cream makers. Professionals use it and every cooks and/or gourmet magazine ranks it head and shoulders above anything else. It's on my wish list! :D

The Musso Lussino 4080 Ice Cream Maker

I haven't had it since I moved down to the States, but I LOVE burgundy cherry ice cream.

So I did some very important ice cream research thanks to this thread and I stopped at this place on the way home. It's called McNeills Creamery and it DOES serve Hanks Ice Cream (from Main). I tried the banana pudding and it was heaven!!! I did notice a couple of other flavors......egg nog, rum rasin, butter pecan, strawberry cheesecake. I'll now be doing whatever it takes to try them all!
