That's a good amount of sequels, not bad... Almost like Child's play or I think Child's play has more/ Bride of chucky/Seed of Chucky?? Hell you know what, I'd put Child's play franchise 2nd, Chucky is pretty badass...

The first Friday the 13th was awful and I never watched any of the sequels.

The first Halloween was awesome and sets the bar for all other horror movies.

Definitely belongs on here. I love the old school ones, and even Bride of Chucky was fun.

Don't forget the other version of the prequel Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist.

The first Halloween wins for me -- saw it when I was a kid so that definitely enhanced the fear factor. The first F 13th and Elm street are a close 2nd though. I've never watched Saw so I can't comment on it, but the previews looked silly to me.

    F13th.

I enjoy the Halloween movies in spite of Michael Myers.

Personal preferences, I guess, but that movie is better by leaps and bounds than all 50 of the Friday the Elm Street movies they churned out, if you ask me. And them's 1973 dollars.

I liked the first of those too, saw them all in the theatre, but nothing scared me like the Exorcist did. Of course, I was younger when I saw that, so that is a factor, but something about the Devil and possession that is much scarier to me than the movies you mention.

Ditto, The Exorcist still gives me chills when I watch it especially at night. Outside of it being a grade A horror movie, its a fine piece of filmmaking in general.

The Twilight trilogy was pretty scary to me ... but do vampires and werewolves count has "Horror" genre films.
