I haven't tried Christian's, though it is less than a mile from my house. Roz's burger was good because: It was juicy, but not too juicy. It dripped, but didn't make the bun soggy. It had good flavor. It was just the right size. It wasn't too decorated, yet not too bland. It was dirt cheap for what you get.
Roznovsky's was a little small for my tastes. Did you get the double or single? YOu should definitely try Christian's. The single is a 1/2 lb patty.
I got dbl-meat, dbl-cheese. It just the right size, but I can see where others might be disappointed with the size of their dbl-dbl. What are the prices like at Christian's?
In other news, I found out last week I had a 103 total cholesterol value... I think in order to celebrate I should visit Broiler Burger the next time I'm in Houston...
Yeah, I only had the single at Roz's so it was definitely small compared to Christian's. The first time I went to Christian's I ordered the double, but the lady at the counter asked me "Are you aware of what you're ordering. That's one pound of meat." I quickly changed to the single. The prices are comparable to Roz's considering the single at Christian's probably a little smaller than the dbl at Roz's. A single was ~$4.40 and the single combo was ~$6.60 (+ .25 for cheese + .40 for bacon) +tax. The fries seemed nearly identical, but what really put Christian's over the top for me was the malts for ~$3. I know, it has nothing to do with the burger quality, but I'd much rather be drinking a malt with my burger than anything else (although beer is a close 2nd). Next on my list is Bellaire broiler. Will try and check them out this Wed.
Get a ton of napkins. When I was a kid and ate there, I remembered the burgers as being delicious and very, very greasy.
someburger is really good. also Champ burger is really good by U of H The Best burger I have ever had though is at Ronnies Hamburgers if your ever in Wichita Falls Tx you must go.
wow, that place was pretty much gone from my memory until i read that. can't remember how the burgers were either.
