Roznovsky's - (Houston: location at Birdsall and Feagan) its not there anymore thanks to them building boom in the area.

O' Connell's - (St. Louis: location at Shaw and Kingshighway) Irish Pub with the best burgers in STL.

In-N-Out - (California - at least that's where I ate them) First stop I made everytime I arrived in Sacramento.

I don't particularly like Fuddrucker's. It's alright, I guess....there fries seem too salty for me. Since the nearest one is right next to Prince's, I'd rather go there.

Luke's wasn't that bad. Their frozen lemonade was fantastic. The reason it closed down was a fire, and they chose to sell it rather than fix it back up.

Whataburger is alright...I really like their milkshakes.

But nothing tops BBB (Bellaire Broiler Burger).

Rancho on 88th/Amsterdam IMO has much better food, interior, and chicks than either Mama or Cocina.

Rosa Mexicana near Lincoln Center is also better but too overpriced.

Rosa Mexicana barely even qualifies as mexican food. Overpriced (but what isn't in Manhattan) and nothing special at all. If you want ethnic I recommend an ethiopian place on 10th and 42nd (i believe). Don't remember the name but great spicy food.

With all of the posters who seem to live or have lived in SoCal I'm surprised noone's mentioned Tommy Burgers in LA.

Growing up Whataburger was always my fav as a chain. Living in the upper Midwest I've found another chain that fares well Culvers. If any of you visit Minnesota or Wisconsin highly recommend a stop there, and don't forget the frozen custard.

I personally would enjoy a head to head to head regional buger competition between Culvers, Whataburger and In-n-out.

As for best burger I have to say that the bacon cheeseburger at the American Club in Singapore was probably the best one I've had.

What's the deal with Whataburger? People love their burgers, but I tried them a couple of times several years ago and hated them. Too heavy on the mustard and they used those diced up onions that fall everywhere.

they're the only place that will truly make your burger as you order it. i love grilled onions...there's not another drive-thru place for that cheap that will do that kind of stuff.

and the quality of the burger...particularly compared to mcdonald's...wendys...or burger king....is great.

What are "dip fries"? Do they have them in Houston? I'll try anything once. Speaking of which, I'm still trying to find a place that serves Calf Fries/Rocky Mountain Oysters. Anyplace in Houston have them. Has anyone tried them before?

Although I'm not a huge fan of mustard on my burgers, either, The Jalepeno Cheeseburger at Whataburger tastes fantastic with mustard on it.

But... They also have the Thick-n-Hearty burger with cheddar cheese, bacon, grilled onions and A-1 sauce that rocks.

Also they have the new Texas Cheddar/BBQ burger there that is awesome, as well.

Just an FYI, DoD. They have plenty of burgers with no mustard. Try something else, next time you're there. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.:)

There's a Culver's in Austin at Breaker and Kramer. Very decent. Not a huge fan of the Butter Burger, but their patty melts rule. Stay away from the cheese curds though. Those things will kill you.

There's also a Culvers in The Woodlands now as well.

    DoD,

Here are two words to remember for your next trip to Whataburger: "no mustard".

    :D

Where in the Woodlands is Culver's? How good is it in comparison to the other burger places that have been mentioned? What is the best thing to get?

Man, I'm not even sure. I want to say at Six Pines and Research Forest, but I get so turned around whenever I'm in The Woodlands.

I've actually never eaten there, even when I lived two minutes away from one in Austin. Something about calling them butterburgers turned me off.

Yeah, yeah, yeah - I know about the no mustard thing. But what I want is what the burger is - make it the standard way. If the Whataburger is the best, then give it to me the standard way you make it. What next? Don't dice the onions?!!?! Disgusting.

    ;)

I've given up eating fast food burgers because I tried one about a month ago after not having one for a couple of years and I felt like I had swallowed a bowling ball. BTW, the Whopper is the best huge chain burger (McDonald's, Wendy's, Jack in the Box, Burger King).

BTW, any of you west coast people want to compare Fatburger with In n Out? I think Fatburger's on the west coast... I know they opened up their first location in Canada a while back. I've heard people say that they make good burgers.
