Has anybody figured out why we like fried food? Sure, it tastes great, but why? What is the logic. Nobody would eat a tub of lard on its own, but when you add it to chicken it's the greatest thing ever. Strange.
Because it was a stupid comment. And I should know, 5030 of my 5080 have been stupid. Anyway, it's not like he posted "Hey Negroes, what is the best fried chicken and watermelon?"
There isn't any decent fried chicken in Colorado....even the chains around here blow. After a few sordid forays into Popeye's and KFC, I don't even try anymore. Just chalk it up as another one of those foods that suck in Colorado....fried chicken, mexican food, seafood,kolaches.....the list goes on....
Let's do a new poll... What chicken related question will azn-baller come up with next? How about McNuggets --- are they real chicken or not?
Well, they're real chicken, (although I'm not quite certain which part of the chicken), BUT they have artificial beef flavoring added... Mickey D's used to fry all their stuff in beef tallow, but some health consumer groups got onto them when the health food craze started in the early 90's, and McDonald's switched to 100% vegetable oil... Of course, vegetable oil didn't exactly provide that "authentic McDonald's flavor" that beef fat did, so they add artificial beef flavor to their nuggets and fries (not sure about the fish sandwich). It's pretty subtle, but you can tell it's there if you're really looking for it... If there's any other useless info you're interested in, just let me know...
Popeyes spicy chicken is best... but anybody remember a place called Tinsley's?? there were a few of them here in Houston...they were actually based out of Huntsville. Fantastic fried chicken and AMAZING rolls!!
Anybody remember Ron's Fried Chicken? That stuff was the greasiest chicken in the universe. You could bite into a drumstick and jets of oil would shoot out everywhichway. I used to squeeze a couple of them so I could do an oil change. I think Church's bought out some, if not all, of them.
Damn I hate these threads. In London there are no popeyes, the KFC's got no mashed taters and no biscuits, and all the other places use the same batter they use for fish. Yuck! I had forgotten totally about Hartz and Ron's. On a similar topic, I always love the chicken fried steak and gravy at Dirty's. Anybody else got an opinion (well you know what I mean...)?
